no matter what the interpretations of this song are, I have to say that I can really relate to both this song and Danger (Keep Away) I was born with a rare genetic condition which has left all my limbs severely deformed. There is a girl that I really like, but I can never seem to get her attention, because of my disability (and admittedly confidence issues) I have been rendered almost invisible to the rest of the world, nobody wants anything to do with me "I can see you but you can't see me". It does drive me mad and the lyrics of this song combined with Danger (keep away) completely summarise how I feel, but the songs do offer comfort and for that I thank Corey Taylor and the rest of Slipknot for creating such a amazing songs.

Personally, i think that the "Virus of Life" is love, especially forbidden love. Forbidden love being when you are in love with another person and either you cant be with them of they dont love you back.

In the song, Corey has experienced this feeling of rejection and therefore commited suicide to cope with the pain. Now they are a ghost and can follow their loved one around.

The way I see this song is that he is with his girlfriend/wife and his mind has become dark and twisted ( unbeknown to the woman). He begins to see life itself as a virus that infects the soul. He is putting an end to her life but the sadistic side of his mind is loving how the kill is working, and the hunt itself

this song is a rare perfection of creepy and evil. it is scary and it is very looming in doom! the fat that its slow instead of a fast paced testosterone fest is all the more amazing. it sounds evil and almost demonic but it is also open to many interperitations. from the most likley being the stalking rape and murder of a women to spitits to literal disease be it phyisical or phsycological. it is an amazing song and by far one of slipknot's best!!

Not willing to make any 'deep' psychological analysis of this song, all I have to say is that it's amazing and by far my favorite Slipknot's song. I tend actually to prefer slow tones (and I very much like the band's ballads such as Vermillion Pt 2 and Circle) but this one is very much appreciated by me.

I like to listen to it very loud.

that is a cool if not creepy notion, my view on it is that the virus is actually that person that you are underneath the mask you wear that people identify you by. Like the quiet kid in the classroom who really turns out to be a sick and twisted serial killer. On the outside, his mask, he is just a timid antisocial shrew. But in his head, the darkenss that looms and watches may sound a bit like the lyrics of the song... think about it.

The virus is the innate evil every man and woman is born with. It is a dark hole in our souls that seeths blackness if we let it. When someone is obsessed, they allow the virus to overrun their system. In this case, the pain from the longing and the pulling he feels when he thinks of her twists his system and turns it into the very blackness that fed on it. like any virus, it's goal is to take over, and when it does, you in turn become the virus... of life.

The tone and lyrics give several points of view that can be seen such as sexual lust, revenge, or any of that. One can interpret this song in many different ways. I for one think that this song is about a man who is obsessed with a women he can't have, and his obsession becomes deadly and this is basically his thoughts when he is thinking about what he wants to do to her. I think he wants to murder her, because thats pretty much what screams at me through the entire song. I believe that the combination of the lyrics, tone, melody, and aura that it communicates to the listener gives reason for such assumptions. But then again this song can be interpreted in many ways, I don't think that they meant it for it to have one set meaning.

this song makes me angry, calms me down, gives me life, and strengthens me,
it's not about love, love is good, listen to the tone of the song, it's "evil"
this song is deffinetly evil, but that's probly why it is so good, and good to listen too.
if im pissed off, this song and Skin Ticket are the ones i listen to.
