The Twelfth of Never Lyrics - Johnny Mathis
Review The Song (9)
You ask how much I need you, must I explain?
I need you, oh my darling, like roses need rain.
You ask how long I'll love you; I'll tell you true:
Until the twelfth of never, I'll still be loving you.
Hold me close, never let me go.
Hold me close, melt my heart like April snow.
I'll love you till the bluebells forget to bloom;
I'll love you till the clover has lost its perfume.
I'll love you till the poets run out of rhyme,
Until the twelfth of never and that's a long, long time.
Hold me close, never let me go.
Hold me close, melt my heart like April snow.
I'll love you till the bluebells forget to bloom;
I'll love you till the clover has lost its perfume.
I'll love you till the poets run out of rhyme,
Until the twelfth of never and that's a long, long time.
Until the twelfth of never and that's a long, long time.
I need you, oh my darling, like roses need rain.
You ask how long I'll love you; I'll tell you true:
Until the twelfth of never, I'll still be loving you.
Hold me close, never let me go.
Hold me close, melt my heart like April snow.
I'll love you till the bluebells forget to bloom;
I'll love you till the clover has lost its perfume.
I'll love you till the poets run out of rhyme,
Until the twelfth of never and that's a long, long time.
Hold me close, never let me go.
Hold me close, melt my heart like April snow.
I'll love you till the bluebells forget to bloom;
I'll love you till the clover has lost its perfume.
I'll love you till the poets run out of rhyme,
Until the twelfth of never and that's a long, long time.
Until the twelfth of never and that's a long, long time.

Courting days | Reviewer: Brian | 5/16/13
My wife and I listened to this song at my Mothers when we were courting, its beautiful. My wife died this year on 12th April, we always remembered this song and I had it played on the way into church at the Funeral. The emotion that day was was really unbearable, but I had to play it. God bless you Janet.
I will always love you.
Some love is forever | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/21/13
While the 12th of Never was our song, divorce -life and many factors took us on different roads. When my daughters Dad, my x-husband was dying, he called. I stayed at his side in his last days and the love we had was rekindled. He never stopped loving me and will never forget that - until the 12th of never....
???????? "Until Never I'll Still Be Loving You! | Reviewer: Jenny | 2/15/13
Take out the words "The twelfth of" and what do you get? "Until NEVER I'll still be loving you." We're very naive or something!!!! I know two couples who got married to this song! The twelfth of forever I could understand!!!
Our Song | Reviewer: janis | 11/28/12
My husband (who died on the 12th of October) and I had this as "our song" from the first time we heard is and we had 54 years and 5 months of loving each other. Hard sometime to realize that he is gone, but I will still and forever love him.

Mummy | Reviewer: Karen | 4/15/12
My lovely mum asked for this song to be played at her funeral for my dad. They were married for nearly 52 years. I think it is the most beautiful way to tell someone how much you love them.
A sinple beautiful statement of eternity | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/19/12
I have chosen and recorded The Twelfth of Never for my wonderful wife of 56 year's coming funeral. She is in the 4th month of a possible 6 that I can love and honor her in life. And yes, the Twelfth of never IS a long long time... We are counting on it... RG

Never will there be a Love Song that tells the 1 You Love that you will be there into eternity with them with Your Love ... and Johnny Mathis has done this for many years. Melody "Borrowed" From British Folk Song | Reviewer: Donna | 11/11/05
Credit is given for words and music to Webster and Livingston; however the tune for "The Twelfth of Never" is the same as an old English folk song in the genre of "riddle songs". In the British Isles it was known as "The Riddle Song" or "I Gave My Love a Cherry". The only difference is the bridge for "The Twelfth of Never".
