The Strokes Lyrics

The Strokes are a five-piece band hailing from New York.
They’re made up of Julian Casablancas (Vocals), Nick
Valensi (lead guitar), Albert Hammond, Jr. (rhythm guitar),
Nikolai Fraiture (bass) and Fabrizio Moretti (drums). Their
emergence has been tied to the “Garage Rock Revival” that
surfaced in early 2000 (other bands include: The White
Stripes, The Hives, The Vines, you get the deal). Ever
since their debut back in 2001, The Strokes have been
recognized as one of the perennial rock bands of our
generation. Their sound is a healthy mix of glaring
guitars, backed by speedy More...

------ About the song You Only Live Once performed by The Strokes

As i listened to this song 5 minutes ago I decided to listen closely to the first couple words that came out.The message that came to my mind was ,In humanity there are many ways in which we can bring out a positive gesture and many of us humans choose to pick a handful of all the attributes there are because we choose what we feel is pure from within our soul. When your out walking around on this planet at least take in consideration when someone is attributing .When I hear this song the message that comes to mind is not to close anyone from any religion ,there are great lessons in each and people are cool too .

------ About the song Happy Ending performed by The Strokes

You didn't mention the part where he says I don't wanna see everybody get together,Leave these dreams alone
You don't wanna have to tell me that I wanted you go
Everybody needs a shadow, oh! At the end.

------ About the song One Way Trigger performed by The Strokes

I liked it to be honest. I didn't know he could do falsetto but it was good, fuck it, great actually. Honestly, for their new album-if the rumors are true-i was kind of hoping for another Is This It, my favorite personally. But I loved the contrast in Jule's voice in the right before and at the pre-chorus, when it went from his intense falsetto to that mind-numbing low pitch that is pure Julian that just, like, seeps this warm but chilling light into you. That contrast was really something. The song was more synth-heavy than I'm used to but I found myself enjoying it.

How can you people say that lyrics are fab??!?!?! those are the worst lyrics in history!!!!!!!!! those guys are amazingly brilliant musicians but really they should ask somebody else to write the lyrics, its really just a bunch of words just put and randomly mixed together! only stupid people does not realize that they play the 'im randomizing the words so that you cant understand cause im a genius' while in fact you are too dumb to get its all a bunch of s+++ and really, really, ruins the whole thing, which is really a pity-

------ About the song Hard To Explain performed by The Strokes

actually you can say nowadays indie rock is a genre

Indie rock is a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United Kingdom and the United States in the 1980s. Indie rock is extremely diverse, with sub-genres that include indie pop, grunge, jangle pop, C86, and lo-fi, among others. Originally used to describe record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock. As grunge and punk revival bands in the US, and then Britpop bands in the UK, broke into the mainstream in the 1990s, it came to be used to identify those acts that retained an outsider and underground and less testosterone-driven perspective.

Allmusic identifies indie rock as including a number of styles that are: "too sensitive and melancholy; too soft and delicate; too dreamy and hypnotic; too personal and intimately revealing in its lyrics; too low-fidelity and low-budget in its production; too angular in its melodies and riffs; too raw, skronky and abrasive, wrapped in too many sheets of Sonic Youth/Dinosaur Jr./Pixies/Jesus & Mary Chain-style guitar noise; too oblique and fractured in its song structures; too influenced by experimental or otherwise unpopular musical styles."

I tag this garage rock, indie rock, post punk in that order
