This song captures me because I'm a Scot from an Indian background, with a fierce pride in my Scottishness. I get what the Proclaimers are on about. There's no nationalist bravado here, just an understanding that we are a nation of diverse origins and we should celebrate that. This lack of a 'little Englander' mentality is what makes us different and special.

it bofere and I'll say it again this could be my absolute favorite song of all time! I can't wait to hear it live and I HOPE that they play it when I see them in Tulsa in October. On the wedding front .We just had a bride, Meghan, whose first dance was DMB's Oh and who named all of her tables at her July wedding (Sheraton Cuyahoga Falls, OH) after venues that her and hubby had seen the DMB at. Red Rocks, Verizon Amp., Blossom, ETC. Under each table name was a brief paragrah about the size of the venue and a few songs that were played that night. My father who is now 77 walked from one area to another area when he was 18. He walked alone with a snow knife and enough caribou meat to last him how ever long it took him to walk. For this reason we live in the Center of Canada, and not in the northwestern region of Nunavut. He was looking for a better place and found it.

Well I first heard this song in the TV show "How I Met Your Mother". I immidiately loved it and started searching for it. When I found it I listened to it again and again and actually I'm still listening to it :) Singing it with the Scottish accent, jumping at my seat and dancing is kinda fun :D I hope I'll find the girl to make me feel love like The Proclaimers tell us :)

When I 1st heard this song with movie "Benny & Joon some years ago I fell in love with it. I finally put movie on pause and got the info about who sings this song the other day. I have downloaded song to my cumputer today. Whats really funny is that I have read all the "Outlander" searies books, there are 8 of them so far. Written by: Diana Gabaldon. About a 20th century woman who travels back to 1700 Scotland. Anyway, when I found that the Proclaimers are from Scotland, I was in ecstasy...

i heard this song in the movie BENNY AND JOON and fell in love with is. the music video of them is great and this song rocks but i thought they said hithering instead of havering...either way it makes sence and is AMAZING!!!
