Almost seven years since the release of Hit The Highway,
The Proclaimers are back with their fourth album. The aptly
named 'Persevere' takes its title from Leith's historical
motto, and continues brothers Craig and Charlie Reids'
legacy of uncompromising musicianship and assured story
telling.
Craig and Charlie have spent their time writing, recording
and busy with family commitments. Never concerned with
chasing fame, their withdrawal from the public eye has been
unequivocal. 'Persevere's' 14 tracks draw their inspiration

love, politics, bereavement and Scotland's history. It is

i heard this song in the movie BENNY AND JOON and fell in love with is. the music video of them is great and this song rocks but i thought they said hithering instead of havering...either way it makes sence and is AMAZING!!!
I am 15 and in a Rock band, Punk/metal/alternative. One of our main influences is the proclaimers, they (Like said above) are definately underrated band. They are on of my absolute favorite bands, and should be known by everyone.

This is a classic love song, and whenever I hear it, I immidiately think of my crush, or any other couple, cause it's just so cute. I hope that whenever I find THAT special someone, we will be willing to walk 500 miles for each other...and I want to walk up the aisle blasting this song at my wedding! : ) <3,Charry <3

This song came in 11th place at our monthly romance-rock song meeting. The Proclaimers are very skilled, I must say. I hope there are a lot of people out there who listen to songs like this. It's good for the soul.

------ About the song Sunshine On Leith performed by The Proclaimers
This great song just doesn't date. What a heartwarming affirmation of love - and faith, too. Craig and Charlie hit so many nails on the head with this one. With its gentle waltz timing it must have been the first dance at many a wedding (and if not, why not - there can be few better suited).
One of those songs you definitely either wish that you wrote or inspired.

------ About the song I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) performed by The Proclaimers
My husband was out on a boys night and text me the corus and then promptly jumped up and down with his mates. Now like others its become a song that symbolises your love for someone. It's the only song that i can hear anywhere and immediatley smile! its infectious!!!

------ About the song I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) performed by The Proclaimers
Many a sad song is brutilly honest about love, and many a happy love song is blissfully blind. But this song combines the two in a wonderful sweet tale of how love should be. Its the good moments and the bad its growing old together and sharing the memories, its that time you get drunk and babble on like at an idiot ( meaning of "haver") its love. a great beat and lyrics that make you grin, but also think, this song rocks on so many levels, I hope someday to find someone I am willing to walk a thousand mile for...

After we've said our vows, we're gonna turn to our families in the Church and tell them that we have a special song to sing to each other, and we want them to join with us in the chorus and otherwise if they know it - and to look at their loved ones as they/we sing...." (Jay is 58 and I'm 52!) Thanx!
Me and my friend Billy sing this every day (at the top of our lungs) and we love it!
