The Proclaimers Lyrics

Almost seven years since the release of Hit The Highway,
The Proclaimers are back with their fourth album. The aptly
named 'Persevere' takes its title from Leith's historical
motto, and continues brothers Craig and Charlie Reids'
legacy of uncompromising musicianship and assured story
telling.

Craig and Charlie have spent their time writing, recording
and busy with family commitments. Never concerned with
chasing fame, their withdrawal from the public eye has been
unequivocal. 'Persevere's' 14 tracks draw their inspiration

I first heard this song at a theatre performance of Gruesome Playground Injuries (brilliant use of music to score the time shifts, btw) and I just couldn't stop humming it all the way home! Even now it's my 'get up and get going' song and people just stare when I start dancing around and singing the words XD

Someday, I want a guy to propose to me with this song. Really <3

Great song, great job on the lyrics. One correction though: in the line
"I'm gonna be the man whose lonely without you."
The word 'Whose' is wrong. It should be 'Who's' - as in "who is".

It's so inspirational yet romantic in a cheery way hah poetry always seems to seize the hearts of people in a charmed principle hah this song gives the emotion of love from an emotional state to actions that show what relationships should be this day in age Is so redundent FYI I'm 9 years old with much kcutzpah lol fail.. Pfft XD I have no desire for loving a girl I only love mommy :P

I am a true scot. Having said that, if I had my way, I would change our national song from 'Oh Flower of Scotland' to the rousing, foot stomping '500 Miles, by 'The Proclaimers'. Now,there's an anthem to be proud of!!,

------ About the song Scotland's Story performed by The Proclaimers

This song captures me because I'm a Scot from an Indian background, with a fierce pride in my Scottishness. I get what the Proclaimers are on about. There's no nationalist bravado here, just an understanding that we are a nation of diverse origins and we should celebrate that. This lack of a 'little Englander' mentality is what makes us different and special.

Slainthe!

it bofere and I'll say it again this could be my absolute favorite song of all time! I can't wait to hear it live and I HOPE that they play it when I see them in Tulsa in October. On the wedding front .We just had a bride, Meghan, whose first dance was DMB's Oh and who named all of her tables at her July wedding (Sheraton Cuyahoga Falls, OH) after venues that her and hubby had seen the DMB at. Red Rocks, Verizon Amp., Blossom, ETC. Under each table name was a brief paragrah about the size of the venue and a few songs that were played that night. It was the coolest thing we have ever done!!!!July 29, 2009 7:09 am
