Hey Nightmare, Where Did You Get Them Teeth? Lyrics - A Skylit Drive

Review The Song (4)

Run, for your life now
Don't you see your princess is gone?
Pull your vengeance aside
Let's make it rain blood tonight

Collide your sword with mine, I'll send your soul
To the hell where it came from
By this I know you'll never set your eyes
On a quest you can't survive
It's no surprise your head hangs from my hands
Your mouth can't sin or lie

Cut through the limbs
Stab through the enemies' eyes
Any last man will die
[x2]

She, watching the sky burn oh how it burns
Run for the skylines, run for the skylines darling

Follow the light of the moon just to stay alive

Forgive me
For tomorrow
If I'm late
I've died before I wake

Cut through the limbs
Stab through the enemies' eyes
Any last man will die
[x2]

What's left for you
You, you wanted life
I showed you love
Conserve protect your life
Conserve your life
Conserve protect your life
Conserve your life

Your life is my well being
And if it lay in the shadows then so be it
But let it be known that this soldier will not rest a day
Until he lays in the glamour and the grace of his bride
I will not rest one day until my victims blood is shed
Up and down the shorelines
Up and down the shorelines

For God's sake please
Don't you forget me
I will wait for you
[x2]

Race the sun
Pray for nothing warm

It's simpler than you think | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/22/13

I think a lot of you are looking a little too deeply into the meaning of this song.

It's simply about loving a girl so deeply and absolutely to the point where you're willing to do anything for them, even "cut trough the limbs" and "stab through the...eyes" of anyone that comes between you and her in any way shape or form. Everyone that presents an obstacle to getting this girl is an enemy, and you'll do what needs to be done to keep her yours.

I think it becomes apparent by the end of the song that he's loved and lost this girl somehow:

"For God's sake, please, don't you forget me"

Loved this song in high school, and listening to it always makes me nostalgic and brings to mind the girl that got away. She was my princess, but now she's gone. Her life was my well-being, and I've been numb ever since she left. And everyday I pray, for god's sake, that she doesn't forget me.

This song has a story that most people dont realize at first. Its about a Knight saving his beloved Princess and how she is captured and how he will save her. Alot of people look at this kind of music and say "WOW, there just screaming theres not even words." well those people are wrong, every song has its own meaning, weither anyone knows it or not.

This song is probably my favorite song because it tells a beautiful love story about a soilder and his princess. She is captured and the song tells about what he goes through to save her.
My favorite line in this song is "Your life is my well being
And if it lay in the shadows then so be it
But let it be known that this soldier will not rest a day
Until he lays in the glamour and the grace of his bride
I will not rest one day until my victims blood is shed
Up and down the shorelines
Up and down the shorelines" because what it says to me is i love you so much that i am going to save you from your captors, and to me that is really special that he'd risk his life for her. This song is a mid-evil era style song because it uses old english terms and i really like that about it. "Until he lays in the glamour and the grace of his bride" this seems like a soldier would say to his buddies about his girl.
