When he says, You come over unannounced. Silence broken by your voice in the dark. I think what he's trying to say is he is reminded of this person at random times, like in his sleep. He hears her "voice" (his memory of her) "in the dark," when he's sleeping. This is also why there is "never a night where I can sleep myself 'til day." His memory of her is haunting him.
