The Night Lyrics - Disturbed

Review The Song (12)

What has come over me
What madness taken hold of my heart
To run away, the only answer
Pulling me away
To fall upon the night
The source of my recovery
Sweet shadow taking hold of the light
Another day has been devoured
Calling me away, begging the question
Why

For saving me from all they've taken
Letting my armor fall again
Giving me the strength to face them
Feeling it taking over now
On a path to take it all away
There can be no better way of knowing

[Chorus]
In a world beyond controlling
Are you going to deny the savior
In front of your eyes
Stare into the night
Power beyond containing
Are you going to remain a slave for
The rest of your life
Give into the night

This self discovery
Redemption taking hold of my mind
A serenade of haunting voices
Calling me away
To feast upon the night
The source of my Felicity
Dark maiden taking hold of my hand
Lead me away from hibernation
Strong and unafraid
Never a question why

For saving me from all they've taken
Letting my armor fall again
Giving me the strength to face them
Feeling it taking over now
I'm about to take it all away
There can be no better way of knowing

[Chorus]
In a world beyond controlling
Are you going to deny the savior
In front of your eyes
Stare into the night
Power beyond containing
Are you going to remain a slave for
The rest of your life
Give into the night

[Guitar Solo]

Give in to the night

[Chorus]
In a world beyond controlling
Are you going to deny the savior
In front of your eyes
Stare into the night
Power beyond containing
Are you going to remain a slave for
The rest of your life
Give into the night

Night [x3]
Give into the Night
Night [x3]
Give into the Night [x2

Amazing song | Reviewer: Metal Teen 666 | 8/16/13

In my opinion, the song says honor as opposed to armor. By letting your honor fall and giving yourself over to the darker side of the human soul, you are free from the inhibitions placed upon you and thus are far more effective, efficient, ruthless, and overall powerful. The character has realized this and is trying to convince the world and groups like the Church of their folly. When they tell him that he is wrong he tells them that this is solution to their problems. "Are you going to deny the savior in front of your eyes?" The song, theme wise, reminds me of I'm Alive.

stareing into the night | Reviewer: darkdragonquen3000 | 2/14/12

This song is great. It sets a deep mood like all of what ever You have had bottled up inside is being set free in song. Like you really are stareing into the night of your soul. You know the parts that have no light and seem lost with out some sort of faith to light it up. This is the dark in everyone no one knows about, and you want them to but they just wouldn't understand. This song has some deep stuff in it. And no matter who you are you must know, because we've all been there. We've all done that.

this song is amazing and personally I dont think it has some super deep meaning..yes it is an awesome song but Kyle, while I do agree with you on us making it crap, I know for a fact David Draiman is jewish and doesnt believe in Jesus

Not such a heavy hand. | Reviewer: psychot100 | 1/7/10

It song that most 9 to 5 chum can understand. When you work retail, or drugery at work and have to cope with the turmoil, and you can't fight back on your own terms. You live for the night! By decomprassing and releasing that tense energy, by whatever makes you yourself. That could be a concert, time with a spouse or just utilizing personal defense mechanism to rationize it. Without this capacity to unencumber ourselves we would loss ourselves in our mundane selves and lose sight of the crucial life experiences that make life tolerable and middle management safe for another day. Melencholy and depression is for the people who overemphasis their profession to overcompensate for personal and social difficulties and defeiencies. Sadly, people underestimate the need to play and relax and cope with stress like a trooper.

Only through proper contrast and honest stringent self-evaluation can one attain those exalted goal of self-relazation. That type of honesty is usually obtained at night when we don't have our armor on and aren't ready to obfuscate and diffuse our accuntabilitey.

Meaning | Reviewer: Kyle | 11/15/09

Well I for one found this song to be more of a personal favourite because of the melody and not so much the words, the words having listened to them quite a bit, seems like they may be mentioning Jesus and how the world is becoming a big pile of crap because of us.

Kickass song! | Reviewer: Indigo.Blue | 6/24/09

This song is so badass, I love it! And awesome360, I so wanna meet you dude. That was the first thing I thought of when I read the lyrics and got the meaning. Of course it could be taken in many different ways by different people, but that was the first thing that hit me.

Honnestly be a real fan and dont be arguing about the lyrics. You have ears use them. Stricken_Mistress is right. But I do believe Duncan may be right I think it is honor not armor. When I dont have a sinus problem I'll confirm it for both of you since you cant tell.

Well, both are wrong.... | Reviewer: Stricken_Mistress | 10/8/08

Both the lyrics here and Derek are wrong on this.
The actual lyrics are as follows. BTW, this doesn't make you a bad fan. It just means that you're not crankin' it loud enough.

"This self discovery
Redemption taking hold of my mind
A serenade of haunting voices
calling me away to feast upon the sight
So my felicity
Dark maiden taking hold of my hand
lead me away
from hibernation
strong and unafraid
never a question why!"

This doesn't make anyone a bad fan. Let's all face it. If we knew all the lyrics to this song, what the hell are w doing on this site?

awesome song | Reviewer: Josh | 10/5/08

one of my favorite songs on Indestructible. David Draiman said that this song about the night being an entity that sets you free, which that was how i always saw the night as even before i heard this song, which is why i love it. whenever i walk at night, this song is always the first to be played. rock on Disturbed!

reply to Derek | Reviewer: Duncan | 8/19/08

Derek, you should open your eyes too. if you claim to be a true Disturbed fan, you should know that the concept of "honor" has a deep meaning for David Draiman. he does say "let my honor fall again" listen carefully. it doesn..t matter if you listened a thousand times if you didn..t understand anything. think again.

great song and band, bad fans. | Reviewer: Derek | 7/24/08

I just want to say you guys need to open up your ears and listen they don't say anything about honor or downgrade it says

"Letting my armor fall again"

and
"The serenade of haunting voices
Calling me away to feast upon the night
The source of my felicity
Dark maiden and taking hold of my hand
Leading me away from my relations
Strong and unafraid, never a question why"

those are the lyrics that I had posted but it keeps getting changed.

So next time you play the cd really listen to the song. I've listened to it over 100 times I know the lyrics.
