Review about The Night And The Silent Water One of their bests | Reviewer: Metalman | 6/2/09
this is one of the best song I've heard by opeth, it sounds really close to black rose immortal, and I think that morningrise really is their best album (at least for me).
the whole song, the guitarwork, the lyrics..everything on this song is perfectly mixed with the rest
masterpiece for a deeper meaning | Reviewer: snave | 5/29/09
this is a deeply moving song. the reason why is because this song was almost 100% written for his grandfather who just passed away.
This is the first song i of theres that actually reached me on an emotional level even way before i found out the secret behind this song.
well put together and never gets old.
Opeth is the greatest band ever.
just try to prove me wrong.
maybe not the best intro to opeth | Reviewer: jr | 3/29/09
just to provide some contrast to the other review here, it took me a long time to get into Morningrise. Blackwater Park is their masterpiece, and my arms, your hearse is a close second. morningrise is definitely an amazing album, but it isn't as accessible as some of their other stuff.
this song is amazing though, brought tears to my eyes when I saw mikael sing it live.

this is probably one of the greatest opeth songs off their incredible album morningrise, widely considered their best album.
i would reccomend this song to any fan of progressive music as this song and album is sheer genius, a great start for anyone interested about opeth, another amazing album is still life i give it 9 out of 10
