The Needle And The Damage Done Lyrics - Neil Young
Review The Song (1)
I caught you knockin'
at my cellar door
I love you, baby,
can I have some more
Ooh, ooh, the damage done.
I hit the city and
I lost my band
I watched the needle
take another man
Gone, gone, the damage done.
I sing the song
because I love the man
I know that some
of you don't understand
Milk-blood
to keep from running out.
I've seen the needle
and the damage done
A little part of it in everyone
But every junkie's
like a settin' sun.

every word to this song expresses how i feel about my fallen friends, a certain one in paticular. i guess in a way, it helps me understand how and what he felt..the pain, sadness and fear. the feeling of being so trapped, that death seems to be the only way out. i know it's not, but i do know that it holds very true to so many of us unfortunate enough to be plagued with the disease of addiction. rest in peace, friends.<3with love.
