The Messenger Lyrics - Linkin Park

Review The Song (1)

When you feel you're alone
Cut off from this cruel world
Your instincts telling you to run

Listen to your heart
Those angel voices
They'll sing to you
They'll be your guide
Back home

When life leaves us blind
Love keeps us kind
It keeps us kind

When you suffered enough
And your spirit is breaking
You're growing desperate from the fight

Remember your loved
And you always will be
sponsored links
This melody will bring you right
Back home

When life leaves us blind
Love keeps us kind
When life leaves us blind
Love keeps us kind

Ohhhhhh Ohhhhhhh!
Ohhhhhh Ohhhhhhh!
Ohhhhhh Ohhhhhhh!

Chester at his best | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/22/12

I see no one else has reviewed this song yet, so I'll kick it off. For me, this is not my favorite LP song. It is however my favorite Chester Bennington song! I like the fact that both he and Mike are getting more solo time on this album, but this particular song shows off exactly why I think Chester is the best male singer out there right now. To be able to litterally SCREAM something and make it sound this beautiful is something I've just never heard any other singer do and I am in awe of him!

It doesn't hurt either that the lyrics are great as well. They might come off as a little corny to some people compared to other stuff LP has made, but give them a real listen. They're actually quite beautiful in their simplicity.

LP has gone from being angry, confused and lost teenagers that other teens could relate to on Hybrid Theory to now being more mature and experienced in the ways of life, being able to give advise to the new generation of teens, but also still relating to the fans that have grown up with them. A hell of a balancing act if you ask me and the beauty of evolution at work. It would be so easy for them to just stay where they were and keep drawing in the kids. Evolving like this, staying true to both who they were and who they've become and thus gambling with fan support every time they put out a new album, that's just a level of integrity you don't see every day in the world of music.

Whether you like the outcome or not, you have to respect that.
