It had to happen eventually. When you survey previous
exports from the city of Las Vegas: an assortment of
suspect hair metal bands; one-hit wonder Toni Basil; err…
Andre Agassi… It was only ever a matter of time that a

ceremoniously clean, giving the inhabitants of that Nevadan
outpost some fresh hope and an escape from their culturally

It’s evolution, see. The unique habitat in which our
subjects developed, their native characteristics shaped by
external factors (in this case Messrs. Morrissey, Bowie,
Ocasek, Gallagher, Presley, Smith, Sumner, Corgan, Cocker,
Byrne, Lennon, to name but a few…) would go towards
creating a band so clearly the product of their environment
and yet so perfect More...
Review about The Killers Human | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Human performed by The Killers
I listened to the lyrics again, having learned that the lead singer is a Morman. "When the call came down the line" may be his calling from God. "I'm on my knees looking for the answers" is his praying, asking for directioni. "My sign is vital" is his sign from God. And the "Are we human or are we dancer?" is asking if we're human in this world of wrong doing and disasters that are going on around us. Are we acknowledging the terrible things going on around us, do we care, can we feel the need to do something "or are we dancer" - are we just pirouetting around the issues, ignoring the good which needs to be done.

------ About the song Replaceable performed by The Killers
I'm pretty sure everyone who has commented on this song has failed to see the deeper point...beyond the girl who is the subject of the song being a "bitch"...that I think the final stanza sheds light on. Arguably, the girl probably cares about Brandon (or whoever) just as much because she's been willing to stick around for long enough to see him "die a thousand times." That can't be easy. And if the dude truly cared about the girl, he should be glad that she's doing fine...that doesn't make her a bitch. Is not evident if it is her fault of his fault that they aren't together...it is only evident that the couple has split and the girl is with someone else and is attempting to move on. And if she's with someone else, of course she'd have to pretend she does not care about this dude, even if she still does...you can't introduce your new boyfriend to your ex and be like "Wow, isn't he gorgeous? Can't you see why I used to be crazy about him?" Furthermore, the dude refers to himself as "naive" and claims he needs to "understand" which indicates that he had some fault, if not equal or greater fault, in the failure of the relationship. I would argue that the dude thought the girl should realize how he felt about her without him ever verbally expressing those feelings...and they've both been hurt before...the girl responds to that hurt by trying to move on despite her feelings because she believes the dude doesn't really care for her...and the dude responds to that hurt by making himself suffer because he's too scared to admit how much he cares for the girl because he thinks she doesn't really care for him. It seems that the dude singing the song has self esteem issues that he wants to blame on someone else. But maybe I am looking way, way too deep into this song. I really liked it, that's why I looked deep.
I belive that this song talks about a girl that is leaving him, but he belives that everything will be alright even when she'll be gone 'cause his dreams on her are enougth for happines, he says ¨take your suitcase and leave, I don't mind 'cause I'm dreaming 'bout those eyes of yours¨, is kinda sad but very meaningfull

------ About the song Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine performed by The Killers
Part 1- Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf;
The singer has realised that his girlfriend (Jenny) is having and affair and decides to kill her (if he can't have her nobody can).
'Jennifer, tell me where I stand
And who's that boy holdin' your hand?
Oh, Jennifer, you know I always tried
Before you say goodbye.'
Part 2-Midnight Show;
The singer tells Jenny that he's going to take her out but to keep it a secret (so he has a chance to kill her). He plans to kill her and has a blanket in the back which he is going to use either to kill her or to hide the body ('I got a blanket in the back seat on my mind') He takes her somewhere near the water (the sea or a lake etc more likely the sea) and proceeds to suffocate her (referenced in both MS and JWAFOM). He the dumps the body into the water and drives away.
Part 3- Jenny Was a Friend of Mine;
The singer is being questioned by the police about Jenny's death, he denies it saying that they only fought and then she left. He continues to deny it saying that he had no motive however in a way he is actually admitting to the murder (he suffocated her- 'She couldn't scream while I held her close
I swore I'd never let her go...'). This could be because he feels that he didn't actually murder Jenny as such rather did what was necessary to keep her showing the descent to madness that started in LTBOTS.
Mr Brightside is NOT part of the trilogy, 'The Killers' have said that it is only a trilogy (The Murder Trilogy) but I can easily be seen as a companion song. (This is also the case with Andy, You're a Star)
I only heard this song yesterday, but I'm already TOTALLY in LOVE with this song. no shit. the riff is awesome, i love his voice, and the tune is <3. and the lyrics are so good that the chorus is mah msn now. lol. the killers have gooood tunez. :)
<33 "he doesn't look a thing like jesus, but he talks like a gentlemen, just like you imagined, when you -- were young-oung..."♥

To tell you the truth, in the music video it kinda looks like the girl and the rest are old fashion prostitutes...
And he's in love with her, but she see's other guys and stuff, and in the end he cant deal with it...

------ About the song A Dustland Fairytale performed by The Killers
I like this song because of the fairytale like lyrics and how it's song and the orchestration. it's powerful and shows emotion to it. it has a lot to do with hope and what people fear for and what they take for granted until they don't have it. it's so good!
Especially the part when god gives them hope but they don't know because they fear it and when the town needs some help. cool...
like i said... ring, sing, and bling bling!

Their next album is supposed to be all covers like this one. They've been playing "Love Me Tender" by Elvis and they played "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" by The Animals at their concert last night.

------ About the song Romeo And Juliet performed by The Killers
Wow, I always loved Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and this song is just amazing. I've never been in love, but this song is probably one of few songs that can actually put it into words if even a little bit. And the fact that The Killers covered it just makes it that much better :-)

------ About the song Midnight Show performed by The Killers
the murder trilogy is legit. sweet stuff by brandon and the killers but mr. brightside is in there at the end when he gets out of jail for the murder ("comin' out of my cage"). This song is probably the deepest of the four though. Aside from the murder, the song emits an intense love from the guys point of view. read the lyrics thinking about sex and it still makes sense in most parts. (I mean "drive faster boy"...that's sex) Kinda gives you a sense that extreme passion can blend together sometimes and pleasure and pain arent so different after all. Haunting is what it is.

------ About the song Read My Mind performed by The Killers
you all need to shut the fuck up. honestly, if you had any musical input you would understand the meaning of both "Read My Mind" and "Human". The Killers have fantastic lyrics. If you don't "understand" t.hem then that's your issue, not theirs, because it's pretty easy to notice this genius. Brenden Flowers is musically brilliant with his lyrics. Please, have some respect.

------ About the song A Dustland Fairytale performed by The Killers
This is about Brandon's mom, her life, death and how she touched peoples lives. She is a princess (a Cinderella) and the Devil (cancer) takes what's good on earth. Nothing is right. . . the wind don't blow; the bell don't ring; the sky don't snow. The good girls die. . . alludes to the fact that nothing is right or explainable on this earth. This IS the most magical and powerful song I've ever heard. I have tattooed a part of the lyric on my body. . . the most amazing part of the song. . . "Change came in disguise of revelation, sets the soul on fire." I can't thank you enough Brandon for music like this.
All of creation waits with infinite patience for us to evolve | Reviewer: Mindy
------ About the song Goodnight, Travel Well performed by The Killers
It's amazing how the most profound experience we are about to have sneaks into the stream of consciousness almost unnoticed. I think this song is about the impending release of this dualistic reality; the evolution of the human being. The unknown distance represents the infinite being that we each and all are; it looks upon the limited expression of itself and it wants so much more for you. As frail as we are and as short a time we exist here our humbled feelings of insignificance are unfounded because the universe waits for you. Your spirit being, yourself, just wants to be with you again and we silly humans are just on pause and the universe is still. All the wisdom you've plucked up and grasped so tightly throughout this life echoes in your being. It is all you hear because it's all you need to hear; give the signal to let your mind go and it will allow us all to transcend. I believe that the souls release is about coming into our godhood, not about dying. He knows fear and everything we hold dear in this realm is about to vanish; along with it the suffering. When aware of this infinite beyond waiting for you there is still nothing you can do or say since it's all done and said. It's happening now. It's so wild, this trip, but all you can do is bless your journey for what it is and step into the unknown. This band offers so much and we are all very fortunate to have access to beautiful truth.

"SO WHAT!" | Reviewer: Ryan....
------ About the song Read My Mind performed by The Killers
Ok, the lyrics above say "Oh well, I don't mind if you don't mind...." I thought it was was "So what, I don't mind...". First time they say it, it DOES sound like "so what". Second time, I suppose, does sound like "oh well". I was hoping that both were "So what", with the second go-round of "so what" just sounding more punk. Also, and call me weird, when he says "the restless HEART...." it has a southern drawl to it. Later in the song they say "The teenage queen, the loaded gun;
The drop dead dream, the Chosen One,
A SOUTHERN DRAWL, a world unseen;"... though that part does not have a southern drawl, I think that it's a reference to the earlier lyrics (restless he-arrrt). Probably just thinkin' too much.
I'm mostly a fan of "Alt-Country", HUGE Jayhawks, Gary Louris/Mark Olson fan. But these guys are just damn good. I agree with the earlier post about the Strokes - effin great. Not that it's a competition, except maybe in my mind between fans of both bands (and maybe it's not, because many like both), but the Strokes blow the White Stripes out of the water. Oh, and THAT's actually the gospel. I know. Music really isn't subjective, there's good and there's bad. By grace of cool people I've known since around 15 (now 33), which was late in the game by many of other people standards, and that's cool, but I know GOOD music.
