The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face Lyrics - Stereophonics
Review The Song (2)
The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and the stars were the gifts you gave
To the dark and endless sky
The first time ever I kissed your mouth
I felt the earth move in my hands
Like the trembling heart of a captive bird
That was there at my command, my love.
And the first time ever I lay with you
I felt your heart so close to mine
And I knew our joy would fill the earth
And last till the end of time
The first time ever I saw your face, your face,
your face, your face

Mustafa is completely wrong here. The Stereophonics covered the song. They were not even born when it was written in 1957! This was written by Ewan MacColl for his wife Peggy Seeger who was the daughter of legendary protest singer Pete Seeger who influenced Bob Dylan & most of the early folk scene. Ewan Maccoll's daughter Kirsty who died under a speedboat propeller a few years ago was equally talented.
Kelly Jones - Amazing! | Reviewer: Mustafa | 8/24/05
Stereophonics' cover of 'The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face' is absolutely amazing - it is probably one of the most beautiful versions of the song that has ever been sung.
As the title says, Kelly Jones's voice is something else - absolutely phenominal! The gravelly, yet gentle tones of his voice are something to be admired by all who can appreciate a beautifully sung song!
Good stuff, Kelly (not forgetting Stereophonics altogether, though! They've also done a great job)!
