The Feel Good Drag Lyrics

Review The Song (113)Print the Lyrics
"I'm here for you," she said
and we can stay for awhile,
my boyfriend's gone
we can just pretend.
Lips that need no introduction
Now who's the greater sin
Your drab eyes seem to invite
(tell me darling) Where do we begin.
Was this over before...
before it ever began?
Your kiss, your calls, your crutch
Like the devil's got your hand
This was over before
Before it ever began
Your lips, your lies, your lust
Like the devil's in your hands
Everyone in this town
is seeing somebody else
Everybody's tired of someone
our eyes wander for help
Prayers that need no answer now
I'm tired of who I am
You were my greatest mistake
I fell in love with your sin
Your littlest+sin
Was this over before...
before it ever began?
Your kiss, your calls, your crutch
Like the devil's got your hand
This was over before
Before it ever began
Your lips, your lies, your lust
Like the devil's in your hands
Failure is your disease
You want my outline drawn
You were my greatest failure
Discourse your saving song
(This part would take place of it)

Review about The Feel Good Drag

lol at christians | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/29/09

Why the hell do all the christians have to make good songs about their religion I mean c'mon, they didn't invent morality and living the good life... heck the world has given you a day to care about your God so save it for my sleep in day.

If you would listen | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/24/09

I think this is a great song and I also believe anbelin is a great band. Whether it is christen or not it still has good meaning, its something that you really have to understand. As for me I am a christen and although I don't like the comments that some people here have posted, comments against christens. I must say that I know who god is and he wants you to know he loves you.

what the hell? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/22/09

what are people going on about? this song has nothing to do about christianity or feeling "obligated to stay in a relationship with someone". this song is about cheating and how this guy has feelings for the girl but theyre relationship is over before it even begins becase she has a boyfriend but he still has feelings for her. basically just talking about a situation that really sucks. leave the "christian" morals and shit for creed and church.

Haha. Christians are so cute. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/2/09

Really. See, I'm not a Christian, and this song still conveys that feeling of...betrayal, that horrible feeling when a circumstance feels wrong when someone makes such an uncomfortable pass at another person--one in a monogamous relationship, or, someone who values monogamy, as I do (it's not only a Christian idea, yall, get with it now). If I were in the singer's disposition, I think this is how I'd feel.

I went and got my Bible and concordanance from my bookshelf, and flipped back through both. I've been in religion classes my whole life, and that's WHY I'm not a Christian...and it takes quite a stretch to make this song one based on Christian ideals. Moral things, sure; particularly Christian things? No. It takes a bit of a stretch to specifically explain lines in the song with Bible verses.

Christians are so cute. I want to pinch their cheeks and send them on their merry way with their nice little leatherbound books. Maybe if we're lucky, the vast majority of Christians out there will actually read the Good Word as it was meant to be read--in context.

Most interesting | Reviewer: Tori | 9/26/09

As a Christian, whether Anberlin considers themselves Christian or not, they talk about life and morality which people from all walks of life need to listen and think about. There is no cursing or anything dirty about it therefore I give all their work an A. This song is particularly great about talking about relationships and how some of them can "drag" or what I like to say emotionally drain you yet one still stays with them because they feel obligated to do so in order to not feel alone.

What it is | Reviewer: The Dead | 9/5/09

This song is all about getting 2 timed. When everythings over she feels a drag because of what she has done. I'm guessing she feels guilty because she loves him otherwise she wouldnt be feeling it. He is talking/singing about how she has become something horrible. Hope this helps

To the anonymous poster on 7/11/09, there are two versions of "the Feel Good Drag". There's one on "Never Take Friendship Personal", released in 2005, and there's one on "New Surrender", released in 2008.
The version on New Surrender is the one released as a single, and does not have "the" in the title, whereas this page is for the older version.
I happen to own both CDs.

Next time, check your sources before you complain; Wikipedia would be a good place to start.

haha | Reviewer: kid | 8/12/09

Wow...Christian guys just singing regular music. It isnt "Christian Music" but that doesnt mean they cant express aspects of their faith through their music...and REVELATION is a book in the Bible, if he said revelations with an "s" and didnt directly link it to the Bible then he probably just said revelations in his own life, one letter matters! haha stupid argument, great song

Everything can be taken with a grain of salt | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/6/09

Over the years, many fans, critics, and other members of the media have consistently characterized Anberlin as a Christian band. However, Stephen Christian stated in an interview that their faith is more complicated than a simple label: "I think we're categorized like that a lot because we're on Tooth & Nail Records, which, years ago, was known as a Christian label and never lost that reputation. I don't care who listens to our records. If it helps people in whatever circumstances they're in, that's amazing, but I definitely don't classify us as a Christian band."[28] Elsewhere, Christian has remarked, "[My faith] affects every single aspect of my life, but I'm not a preacher, I'm an entertainer."

Quit bitching | Reviewer: Victor | 7/28/09

This is a good song regardless of whether or not it was religiously influenced. It all depends on the listener and how one would listen to the song. You get what you want out of it and that is usually what musicians want from their fans.
