From their beginnings as a low-fi pop band releasing
cassettes to the release of their highly anticipated,
electronically charged new Danse Macabre album, The Faint
have always been a band which is in constant evolution.
The Faint are from the currently thriving Omaha music
scene. Featuring current members Todd Baechle (vocals,
synthesizer), Clark Baechle (drums), and Joel Petersen
(bass) they began by opening coffee house shows for various
singer songwriters in 1994, utilizing an off-beat
hodgepodge of folk and lo-fi. Performing under the name
Norman Bailer, the original line-up featured standard rock
instruments as well as some effected keyboard and vocal
leads. They released this material on a now out-of-print
cassette on Saddle Creek (then called Lumberjack) More...

------ About the song Lullaby For The... performed by The Faint
i love this song, one of my favorites off of media. but my initial thought is... what does this song mean? it almost seems as if its explaining kids learning about the birds and the bees by hearing or seeing their parents in action. but the logical idea would be that they found that religion is not for them. i hope it to be the first, because i see that as more clever.

------ About the song How Could I Forget? performed by The Faint
I love this song; not only does it have a truly fierce hook, but the lyrics really pull the music out into the light and make the melody even more addictive.
That and it's fantastically catty.
You go, Faint.

Absolutely the best of the unknown bands out there today. These guys are truly an amazing band that write songs with the catchiest riffs and hooks and lyrics ever. Hope they stick around for a while.

"swing" no one writes aboutdrugs really, youre a moron. this is about a relationship that makes him feel he is losing himself
"I watch myself,
Walk away,
A foreign spirit,
took my place.
An empty stare,
its eyes are dull,
So my essence, it's riding my pulse."
you are going to try to argue that the next line is about him smoking something, when in reality its his metaphor for ABRACADABRA, POOF, HE IS GONE, HE LOST HIMSELF
"It's all I've wan-
ted now I guess I've got it.
Why it happened, I don't know,
Hope this doesn't last forever."
that should explain to you that he is over losing himself in this relationship and hopes it ends...
the only drug this could apply to is a relationship, dumbfuck

Well I agree with Eric.
This song is amazing, it is really catchy and the lyrics are different than what you hear today. :] It's so great that we might have to make up a new word to describe it.

NOT "cats shadow", but rather "cast shadow"
NOT "drugs work hard before they die", but rather "DRONES work hard before they die"
there is also rumor that a few times the word "hole" is substituted for "home" (the drones work hard before they die, and FILL THOSE PRETTY LITTLE HOLES"), but this discrepency is probably due to live VS recorded performance.
the band is phenominal, and the production is perfect. so glad they never "made it" on the radio.

I really like this song. What's best about it is that the lyrics mean something, not just a bunch of crap that doesn't mean anything.

well, needless to say, The Faint is one of my favorite bands. Also southern bells in london sings is one of my favorite songs. I can not speak highly of this song with out saying that it is only one of there many excellent songs. The first song i ever heard by the faint was balled of a paralysed citizen, and welts randomly getting more of there music i stummbled apon this song, and ever since its always the first faint song i play for anyone who's never heard them before...and that only lasts till they also get hooked...then buy there albems...i think im selling an image...atleast its a good one.

------ About the song I Disappear performed by The Faint
I think that this is the only song that really comes out and talks about drugs in a way that the community surrounding The Faint and the fanbase can understand.
The only thing is, the way in which it is written makes the drug in question ambiguous. It could be so many different things.

this song is the best song by the faint, and is my most listened to song on itunes. i can listen to this song over and over again. its orchestral side really brightens up the song and your day. its such an amazing song, and the simplicity of the drums is absolutely amazing as the have such a great effect on the song. this is the best song by any band at the moment i think. the faint are so original and inspirational. this song just puts an upside to my day.

The lyrics aren't so weird. It's about a drowning fake/paralitic incident. It's clever if anything.
