The Escapist Lyrics - Nightwish
Review The Song (4)
Who's there knocking at my window?
The owl and the Dead Boy
This night whispers my name
All the dying children
Virgin snow beneath my feet
Painting the world in white
I tread the way
and lose myself into a tale
Come hell or high water
My search will go on
Clayborn Voyage without an end
A nightingale in a golden cage
That's me locked inside reality's maze
Come someone make my heavy heart light
Come undone
Bring me back to life
A nightingale in a golden cage
That's me locked inside reality's maze
Come someone make my heavy heart light
It all starts with a lullaby
Journey homeward bound
The sound of a dolphin calling
Tearing off the mask of man
The tower-my sole guide
This is who I am
Escapist
Paradise Seeker
Farewell, time to fly
Out of sight
Out of time
Away from all lies
A nightingale in a golden cage
That's me locked inside reality's maze
A nightingale in a golden cage
That's me locked inside reality's maze
Come someone make my heavy heart light
Come undone
Bring me back to life
A nightingale in a golden cage
That's me locked inside reality's maze
Come someone make my heavy heart light
It all starts with a lullaby
A nightingale in a golden cage
That's me locked inside reality's maze
Come someone make my heavy heart light
Come undone
Bring me back to life
A nightingale...
In a Golden Cage...
The owl and the Dead Boy
This night whispers my name
All the dying children
Virgin snow beneath my feet
Painting the world in white
I tread the way
and lose myself into a tale
Come hell or high water

Stellar Song! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/11/13
To the 3/3/12 reviewer: You must be tone-deaf. A simple Sony RDP-xf300ip for work, Yamaha 7.2 Receiver in the Man Cave with only Polk Audio and 4 subs, 5.1 Polk Audio in the living room, 5.1 on the computer desk, and Pioneer screen with JL Audio speakers and sub all-around from XD700/5 for the car.
If you think the bass is overpowering, you need to stop running bandpass subwoofers. I calibrate my listening to Iron Maiden, myself. I prefer a nearly flat curve all around, to keep the sound as intended. Nightwish is a huge favorite of mine behind Maiden, and I'll be damned if I listen to it half-assed!
It's unfortunate | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/3/12
This song is brickwalled all to hell. The bass blows out so badly in some places that you risk damaging your speakers listening to it a good volume if you have a great system that accurately produces the song. Nightwish always pushes things, but this time it's detracting from their music, which is a shame, as mastering is supposed to enhance, not damage music.
Wow... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/7/08
The very first time I heard this song I was addicted. Then iTunes finally got it and I literally listened to it 70 times in one day. This is the BEST Nightwish song ever - no - scratch that, the best song ever. Period.

I like this song very much. But I think Marco should have took part in the vocals too, not leave it all to Anette. She is doing in that song quite better that before, but anyway, I think that Marco should have sang also. But the instrumental is very good :)
