Killswitch Engage The End Of Heartache Lyrics

Last updated: 03/16/2013 06:58:48 AM

Seek me, call me
I'll be waiting

This distance, this dissolution
I cling to memories while falling
Sleep brings release, and the hope of a new day
Waking the misery of being without you

Surrender, I give in
Another moment is another eternity

(Seek me) For comfort, (Call me) For solace
(I'll be waiting) For the end of my broken heart
(Seek me) Completion, (Call me) I'll be waiting
(I'll be waiting) For the end of my broken heart

You know me, you know me all too well
My only desire - to bridge our division

In sorrow I speak your name
And my voice mirrors, mirrors my torment

(Seek me) For comfort, (Call me) For solace
(I'll be waiting) For the end of my broken heart
(Seek me) Completion, (Call me) I'll be waiting
(I'll be waiting) For the end of my broken heart

Am I breathing?
My strength fails me
Your picture, a bitter memory

For comfort, for solace
(Seek me) For comfort, (Call me) For solace
(I'll be waiting) For the end of my broken heart
(Seek me) Completion, (Call me) I'll be waiting
(I'll be waiting) For the end of my broken heart

Personally I do like how this song could be interpreted in many ways, giving it personal meaning to different individuals, but I have to speak the truth. This song has the same meaning as "My Curse" by KSE. It's about the loss of a loved one in death.
"My only desire - to bridge our division" (the division is death)
"In sorrow I speak your name"
"Your picture, a bitter memory" (both of the lines speak the same thing, that his longing for her is tormenting him, since they will not be united again)
"And my voice mirrors my torment"
This song is so beautiful and addresses something that nearly all humans are eventually faced with.

We can all take someting from what we see and hear in this song.
In this song, personaly, i feel that he is talking about Jesus. You may think I'm crazy , but i feel this comes from a place of brokeness and need Jesus, to be there, to comfort, to save.

You know me, you know me all too well | Reviewer: Marius | 12/4/12

For me this songs relate to "friend-zoneing"
"You know me, you know me all too well" maybe indicate that they are very close friends,
and "My only desire - to bridge our division" is kind of that he wants to get to the same state, she starts seeing him as something more.

well, this is what is means for me. i like that ppl can relate it to so much; painfull break ups, long distance and friends where one wants more then just friendship.

Love this song :)(I love you N<3)

I think this song is based on his feelings of loneliness. In his loneliness he's calling out to the one that didn't work out but also to the one in the future. Maybe he thinks that somehow it might have been better and in order to not be alone maybe he can fix something. On the flip side it also seems that he wants whoever will be there in the future because his memories of the past are just bitter mistakes.

Interesting | Reviewer: J. Ryan | 6/7/12

I think the two separate views are both legit. I mean the quote 'My only desire - to bridge our division' could easily mean either 1: To shorten the distance physically or 2: Shorten the distance emotionally, IE to make their differences less profound or to fix other issues in the relationship. "Sleep brings release and the hope for a new day" Seems more like its referring to how when he sleeps he can play through the good memories and bring hope that either the couple will reunite or the pain of his loss will fade. This song is an emotionally charged piece of art and Killswitch Engage's Howard definitely brings out that emotion. There's my two cents I could write plenty more but I've probably rambled on enough for anyone's taste. Anyone who reads this and is feeling the pain of heartache. I wish you the best and hope that release comes to you and your troubled mind.
With love,
J. Ryan

I don't believe this song is about long distance relationships. This song describes about he's sorrow without being with a girl that he loves. A moment is an eternity. That's how I was when one of my ex's left me. This song is about a woman leaving him without saying a word in my opinion.

I couldn't agree more. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/23/11

I could have sworn it said "In my grieving".
Also, I have a long distance boyfriend. We've only just began to know eachother completely. I'm going to see him next month, too. He learned this on the guitar so he could play while I sing. kjdhd. <3

Yea this song defiantly is for long distance relationships. My boyfriend and I were in one for almost a year and there was a lot of heartache, longing for eachother but I never found peace in sleep though, I was constantly worrying and scared to lose him cause well he is my soul mate. Two months ago our heartache ended when he finally moved in.

Love this song | Reviewer: LovesickFox | 7/6/11

My boyfriend and I have been in a long-distance relationship for 2 1/2 years, he is the one for me. He and I have been through a lot together and have grown, including our music library, lol. He let me listen to this song and it just makes me feel whats in his heart... he loves me so much and until he can be with me officially, he will always be longing and aching for me. I love him! <3

It is a really good song. I am not into the screamy songs but this one just gets me =)

i just broke up with girlfriend and im heartbroken. i have listened to this song a thousand times before but ive never actually listened to it. in the last five days ive listened to it thousand more times and its right i never am at peace until im asleep. i am waiting for the of this heartache

long distance | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/16/11

this song is almost made for long distance relationships like mine, when your in a long distance relationship, the one thing that you both look forward to is the relief the one day your both living together, hence the "bridge" he talks about. i love it

Really.... | Reviewer: David | 11/15/10

The person within the song is in love, but they have hope that their division will be bridged, and he will wait until the day that they get back together, because he loves her that much. he'll wait.... until the heartache is over, "My only desire - to bridge our division" until he has the one he loves back. he'll always be heartbroken.

new meaning | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/10/10

I take this song as some1 who was intrestd and tried to make a relationship but was ignored " seek me , call me, ill be waiting" is saying hey I made the attempt yea im hurt but your gonna change your mind and come back

Silence isn't the only thing that's golden... | Reviewer: HaMSt3rBoT | 10/13/10

To me this song is almost sentimental in a way as to me it's not so much losing a loved one, but more the enduring and dedication to a long discance relationship which is my situation exactly. TTwTT
This song makes my girlfriend and me (yep both of us, since this is one of her all time favorites too!) appreciate the love and bond between us even more if that's at all possible, and the way it's been written and composed doesn't leave you feeling depressed or brooding in any way, it actually instills hope and showing you "hey, look forward". :3

Love the song, love KSE, and loving "The Forgotten" album too! |m|>w<
