The End Of This Chapter Lyrics - Sonata Arctica

Review The Song (6)

[Phone rings]
[Spoken]
"Hello?
Well, well, how are you?
Uh.. who is this?
Who do you think this is?
Stop it.. who is this?
You know very well who i am..
You almost got away from me didn't you?
Oh my god.. you can't be.. you can't be!
Hahaha
Oui, oui, mon amour...c'est moi."

I gave you my time
I gave you my whole life
I gave you my love, every dime..
They told me it was a crime

Do you remember?
Did it all go in vain..?

I looked in the light, I sat in your coal mine
The promise they made, I should keep?
Make sure that we would never meet!

I can't remember
The promise I made so deep

Tell me that past times won't die
Tell me that old lies are alive

Across darkened skies, I travelled without a light
I sank in the well, of my mind
Too deep, never to be found

I can't remember..
How could you be so vain?

Tell me that past times won't die
Tell me that old lies are alive
Love that expired too long time ago
Kills me, it thrills me

You have a new love and,
It looks good on you.
I have never wished you dead.. yet!

You can now have all the things
I could never give to you,
Look out the window: "C'est moi!"

I'm sorry, I am here
I'm not sure if it should bring you fear?
I whisper in your ear
Why is he in here?

While you are sleeping, I steal your earring
Light you one candle, this anger I handle..!

They said, I won't find you, but now, I'm beside you
I'm not all, that stable,
You should, know by now that you are mine!

Tell me that past times won't die
Tell me that old lies are alive

I tell you that past times won't die
I tell you that old lies are alive
Love due to expire too long time ago
Kills me, it will kill you too

Past times wont die
I tell you old lies are alive
Hate due to expire too long time ago
Kill me, please kill me before

I tell you that past times won't die

I think I get it | Reviewer: Rafael | 6/24/13

I might be totally wrong, but I think this song takes place long after "Caleb".
In Caleb basically tells a story that his father tries to kill him, his mother saves him, but doesn't treat him well, she in fact hates him.
I think that he or she runs away for a long time, and in this song, he's back for her, but she has a new family, and a new son, "a new love", and Caleb pretends not to be jealous, but he is in fact dying inside, and is angry with her. Then he keeps reminding her that she is my mother, and that she lied and pretended to care about him someday in the past, but he realizes that he's not "welcome" there, so he gets out of the house while she is sleeping..

I mean, is just a theory, and maybe (probably) it's all bullshit, but I like to think that that's the story...

Love, it kills me... | Reviewer: Dante | 2/11/11

but it doesn't thrill me. No matter who I'm after, she never accepts me. I die a little, as my heart shrivles up and grows colder. I often follow and learn about them before I move in, though they don't ever know I'm there. Half the time, they have a love already, and it looks good on them. They look out the window, and it's me, walking away.

Dana Trilogy? | Reviewer: Joanna | 8/16/09

So i know that someone said this is part of the Caleb trilogy, but i was thinking maybe this song could also be part of one concerning Dana?
try listening to "Letter to Dana", "Shy" and "The End of this Chapter". The character falls in love with Dana, who will never be his. in his sadness he goes to "citylite diner", and sees another girl who resembles Dana, and he watches over her from a distance. then in "end of this chapter", the character becomes dangerously obsessed with the girl from the diner (who is already in a relationship, and will not be his either). i think it makes sense lol

The Caleb Trilogy | Reviewer: Lyam | 7/7/09

This song is an excellent opening to the Caleb trilogy (End of this Chapter, Don't Say a Word and Caleb), and when i heard the sequels, i was amazed how well SA tied them together. They're all worth a listen to, maybe ordered into a three-song playlist. They sound amazing together.

Sonata Arctica - The end of this chapter | Reviewer: David | 5/7/07

In the song: Sonata Arctica - The end of this chapter I found an error...

"I gave you my love, every time"

it is "every dime".. not time!
