Paul McCartney The End Of The End Lyrics

The End Of The End

At the end of the end
It's the start of a journey
To a much better place
And this wasn't bad
So a much better place
would have to be special
No need to be sad

On the day that I die I'd like jokes to be told
And stories of old to be rolled out like carpets
That children have played on
And laid on while listening to stories of old

At the end of the end
It's the start of a journey
To a much better place
And a much better place
Would have to be special
No reason to cry

(whistling)

On the day that I die I'd like bells to be rung
And songs that were sung to be hung out like blankets
That lovers have played on
And laid on while listening to songs that were sung

At the end of the end
It's the start of a journey
To a much better place
And a much better place
Would have to be special
No reason to cry
No need to be sad
At the end of the end

Peaceful Comfort | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/13/11

I attended a Celebration of Life for a dear friend yesterday and this song was used in the video montage at the end of the program. It was perfect, and I saw several people pull out their phones to download it at the end of the program. It was so cathartic!

The Best of Paul's Best... | Reviewer: Rick | 10/6/10

Sir James Paul McCartney has written innumerable wonderful, and happy, and beautiful songs...I had always thought "Yesterday," or "We Can Work it Out," or "Lady Madonna," or "Day Tripper," or "And I Love Her" would take his personal Top Spot...that is, until I heard THIS SONG...and I decided it TOPPED a LONG list of Greats of the Beatles' best songster...even the Best of Paul's Best...

it fits my needs as i lost my son and he would probably liked to have heard this because he said this to me the day before he died
it's as if he wrote the song himself
even though he was just 25 he loved the beatles and woke up to their cd to get ready for work every day
