Through more than 20 extravagant years and 20 extraordinary
albums The Cure have done it all in their own unmistakable
way. Free, independent, wilful, unconfined, the band have
spent most of their career creating and exploring in the
strange places where the worlds of mainstream and

uniquely distinctive sounds and styles, and in the process
created as great a body of contemporary music as you could
wish to hear.
With over 27 million albums sold, The Cure's achievements
on every level have been incredible. Yet whereas even the
most creative of bands both past and present have

------ About the song Lullaby performed by The Cure
Songs have usually got multilayered meanings, so yes, it is about abuse, about paratroposphere, and a wonderful invention about a gloomy atmosphere of arachnophobia, all togheter, at different levels.

------ About artist/band The Cure
everything about the cure is amazing. from robert smith's heart-wrenching lyrics on "pictures of you" to the wailing, spiraling guitars on a "chain of flowers". from the poppy meows and jazzy beat on "the lovecats" to the get-up-and-go "doing the unstuck". from the heart-wrenching vocals on "lost" to the ridiculously dirty "the only one". without this band i don't know what i would have done, who i would have been. the cure has helped me find who i am, find answered when there were none, and get through hard times. the cure is the best band on earth!
Fear of Ghosts! O.o | Reviewer: Hioopt
------ About the song Fear of Ghosts performed by The Cure
I like the message the song sends.
It's about two people breaking up for unknown reasons. They were very close, and it wasn't a happy break up, but the boy learned to accept it. As time went on he didn't care how far apart they were growing. He misses her, but knows they can't go back to what they once were, no matter how much either of them want to.

------ About the song More Than This performed by The Cure
Not i single i have found that sounds average every song is great........ lyrics, singing, music .... everything just touch deep inside heart.... I wish that in future we'll be seeing Bands like 60's, 70's, 80's n 90's.... mostly 70's
for me, this song is about having an addiction to someone who is not right for you. And you know it, but just can't stop, because they do something for you in the moment. When you know you need to stop, because they break your heart over and over and over, but you can't. Because this person is like a drug. I am madly in love with someone that I have wanted for ten long years now. He is my drug and I am an addict. This song is the exact way I feel for this man. and, I know I need to stop...
about the meaning | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Lullaby performed by The Cure
Well, to me the song is about the "paratroposfera", which is a place where the souls of some dead people go. Like in the movies "Sixth Sense" or "The others"....some people die and they don't realize. They stay in a dimension, a mental state, in which all their fears and mental images como to life, in which resembles hell. So that's what musicians reflect in their music sometimes, as they come from there and deep inside they kinda miss that "place". The theory about sleep paralysis - or "catalepsia" - relates to this and makes sense, as the allucinations are in fact real souls that approach you when in that state.

------ About the song Lullaby performed by The Cure
This song brings back memories of listening to music alone in my room late at night with the black light on, wallowing in my own dismal melancholic mood whilst contemplating the meaning of life. The song is actually based on a reoccurring nightmare of Robert Smith's. Disintegration is a musical master piece that shall be remembered through the ages, not at all like the cheap rubbish that is overplayed on today's radio waves. That should be enough ranting for me today.
I'm a Cult Hero Baby! | Reviewer: Jane
------ About the song I'm a Cult Hero performed by The Cure
Just to clarity - while this is indeed a Cure song - it was writen for, and sung by, the actual "Cult Hero"; Frank Bell - not Robert Smith. Frank was a local postman in the town of Horely.
Another intesting note regarding this song is that Robert Smith's sisters also contributed to this song - Janet on bass and Margaret on backing vocals - as well as other band mates, friends and family members.
This song, along with the rest of the Disintegration album, and most Cure songs, should be listened to when it's dark outside and preferably on a rainy fall night. Love to put on the album and light a few candles and just sit there in the dark and listen through the entire album.
This is in my opinion one of the greatest songs ever made. So much pain, it gives me chills every time. I love how Robert's singing builds up and becomes more intense as the song goes, and when he sings "Stains on the carpet, stains on the memory" is one of the most haunting moments in music history.
A perfect song! | Reviewer: figurehead
------ About the song The Same Deep Water As You performed by The Cure
One of my absolute favourite songs. I think that you can find in this song some of the greatest lyrics in the history of music.
In my mind this song talks about a lot of things.
First of all about the things we never live because we don't dare to try! So when we loose our chance for happiness, we live regreting for the rest of our lives.
This is why the hearts shake when we listen to the words "can't you see i try swimming the same deep water as you is hard" and the reply is "the shallow drowned lose less than we"
Until the end... a life
" but tightly hold up silently my hands
before my fading eyes and in my eyes your smile the very last thing before i go... "
There is another view then... it's a feeling that Robert wrote a lot of songs about. The feeling when you love something "bigger" than you can deal with
A hymn to youth! | Reviewer: Nikos
------ About the song Sinking performed by The Cure
Try to listen to the song on your 30th (or later) birthday and you'll feel unbelievably old!
It is most strange that Robert wrote the song when he was 23-24 years old and felt like that!!!
But then again it's Robert Smith we're talking about. He can feel anything and most important he can make you feel the same...

------ About the song Lullaby performed by The Cure
I dont know what the song actually meant for or written based on whatever grounds. But the song really makes me feel good when I am really being stressful from the world we live in. I dont even really trying to understand the lyrics. Even though I am not a musician, I can really appreciate the art The Cure has created here. The music was beautifully played and the singer, Robert Smith sang the song perfectly. It just makes my heart and soul float with this song everytime I listen...

------ About the song Lullaby performed by The Cure
haha i love how everyone is overanalyzing it into rape and child buse. personally, i think the song is about him having sex with spiderman..... i mean come on people, maybe the lyrics are just telling the truth, not some hidden meaning behind it ;)
The Cure came into my life in the late 80's. Their music is unlike any other that I heard. Maybe Earth Wind And Fire. I love the way you can feel the emotion of the music and the arrangements. Charlotte Sometimes is one of my favorites, I still Enjoy Facination Street, Plainsong, Disintergration, 1000 Hours, Like Cockatoos, A Night Like This, Sinking, The Hanging Garden, Burn, Apart, Doing the Unstuck, Closedown, Last Dance, Same Deep Water As You, and Caterpillar. The Greatest of all is when I Youtube videos that I never knew exists. Heal Your Heart Everyone. Peace
There are quite a few songs which can move me to tears but this one does it almost every time. The music is perfect, with its catchy, overlaid melodies so typical of Robert Smith's song writing and lyrics which describe pain, anguish and love in epic and heart-wrenching fashion.
Oh, and a note to 'Crooked': This song has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with King Henry VIII, who famously had six wives. None of them hung themselves, although he did behead two of them. If you listen properly the lyric in the song has nothing to do with anyone literally being hanged, it's describing the woman he's trying to break free from seducing him again.

------ About the song All Cats Are Grey performed by The Cure
A song that is one of my personal favorties. The cure has been my favorite band for nearly 16 years and this song still sticks out for me. It goes rather well with "fear of ghosts" and Ocean (or Adonais)

------ About the song Lullaby performed by The Cure
this is the best song the cure ever made, they're nothing these days, by the way, but who cares?
lullaby is definitely a song about fears, i love the melody, i think it's a perfect masterpiece.
i also want to congratulate everyone for their interpretation of its lyrics, music makes the people come together so it's fabulous to read about other people's opinions
This song haunts me, or renders me haunted | Reviewer: Antonie
------ About the song The Same Deep Water As You performed by The Cure
I used to make art. This song inspired some of my most beautiful works, which are now probably lost in the river of time that life is. The song haunts me with memories of love both found and lost, and sometimes I just listen to it. There are days when this song still makes me weep. I love most of the material the Cure has put out over the years, but this album was their swan-song for me. Especially this song, and 'Homesick'. My sweetie is asleep, and I'm going to go top up my beer, and reset the vinyl...

------ About the song Charlotte Sometimes performed by The Cure
Guess I am feeling older seeing that some really young people are posting here. You make proud! :-) I loved The Cure since 1987. I just can't believe they are still putting out haunting melody after melody after all these years. "Charlotte Sometimes" is probably their best early song...although I also love "A Forest".
