I start out thinking about an early ex and end up with thoughts of a very dear friend who committed suicide--she was too fragile for this world. There's the formerly unspoken thought that if only I or someone had said or did the right words/thing we could have saved her and helped her get the help she needed. This song cuts deep into my heart even more so than it did when I first heard (and loved) it as a teen when it was first released many years ago.

For me the song is about an elderly couple going for a walk and stopping to look at the sea maybe. I believe that the woman may be dying and the man does not yet know it. Even after all those years the man still feels the excitement and uncertainty of being utterly in love with a woman who only has to smile to make his world complete.

Lullaby is a fantastic complilation of music, brilliantly presented. I read it is about Robert being molested as a child by his dad, or that it is when Robert is on drugs. I can emagine both situations, sadly. Non the less it is a brilliant piece of music, both mystifying and scary, just brilliant!!

The song seems to show someone who had a great intense love for someone but never realsied how they had possibly acted behved. this song also has subtle referrnces to mental illness or the dependancy they had for ech other.

Amazing song! When I'm listening it I've got goosebumps...I think there is also something sexual within this song - in a good way, of course...Something that you could not explain with words, something that makes you excited.

somebody please tell me that the cure will be touring in three years. The younger generation (including myself) need brilliant bands like the cure to stay around a little longer.

This song is so powerful. Definitely one of my favourites. The Cure's ability to capture such strong, dark feelings in a song and perform it perfectly is completely outstanding. The Cure is a masterpiece!

I believe this song is clearly about the Fall of Adam and Eve. They are clearly in Paradise at the beginning of the song. "Creatures kissing in the rain" "catching haloes on the moon" "shapeless and no need to speak" this indicates to me that they have no self-consciousness and no need for sleep or clothes...until something bad happens in the heat of the night. The animals scream as now they are mortal. Falling from the sky jumping out of time...maybe Adam and Eve being banished with Lucifer and falling out of the sky coming to Earth. "Wearing furs and masks" hiding their bodies in shame and self-awareness. "Cover my face as the animals die" being responsible for their demise due maybe to disobedience.
