Faith No More The Cowboy Song Lyrics

Last updated: 06/06/2014 07:19:16 AM

Tears fall, they scarred your innocent dreams
Loves fall, they kinda leave you empty
Leaves fall, the seasons pass you by
And you think that maybe you can fly

Ceilings fall, with each romance you incur
Clouds fall, with each moment of despair
Buildings fall, the pavement is their bed
But what's the last thing that goes through your head?

You take the elevator to the top
The next thing you know
There you are standing on the edge
And all the flashing lights and futile cries
They're left with you now
Just close your eyes and take that final step

Rains fall, they dampen your will to live
Gods fall, with each pleasure that you give
You fall, and take the whole world with you
But will you even bother to look down?

You take the elevator to the top
The next thing you know
There you are standing on the edge
The circumstance it turns you inside out
So we can have peace
Before you find out what's inside your head

What's inside your head!

You take the elevator to the top
The next thing you know
There you are standing on the edge
The circumstance it turns you inside out
So we can have peace
Before you find out what's inside your head
And all the flashing lights and futile cries
They're left with you now
Just close your eyes and take that final step
Just close your eyes and take that final step

awesome sauce | Reviewer: Jeannine Douglas | 6/6/14

I never really got into Faith No More or any of Mike's stuff, but only because ofiignorance... I had never heard of them before. I hate that. The Cowboy Songis my upmost favorite of all of Mike's songs. Close second is Strip Search of the Album of the Year album.

Brilliant song and thanks for the deciphering :D | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/3/10

Hear me out- I'm glad this never made it onto a studio album. Imagine the radio stations playing it over and over and over for every mindless mainstream listener to love for a few months and then forget? It would have crushed Faith No More's most incredible song (in my opinion anyway). I love how it's tucked away at the end of one of their hardest to find albums, hell I bet they even did it on purpose. Lol

underrated and under appreciated | Reviewer: max | 5/1/08

this song is a brilliant work of art, its structure is energetic and epic. the vocals transform in single words. and the lyrics, if deciphered, im sure reveal profound human truths. faith no more refuses to be defined.

Should have been just as epic as Epic. | Reviewer: Brenton | 7/28/07

It's only a shame that this song didn't get on a studio album. This should be the song that they were known for. My personal favorite when it comes to Faith No More.

Chilling | Reviewer: Chris | 6/8/05
