It sheltered me from nothing but the weather
I called it home for a moment of my life
This place I see just doesn't look familiar
I wonder if it looks the same inside
So there's the corner that I sat on
The road I walked home in the rain
And there's the star I used to wish on
It all just seems like yesterday
Days go by
Nothing's getting clearer
Can't change my mind
My troubles are the same
Faces change
The names they are familiar
And the streets I see
Will stand the test of time
So there's the corner that I sat on
The road I walked home in the rain
And there's the star I used to wish on
It all just seems like yesterday
And those stars
Stars still shine
Shine down through the rain
And there's the corner that I sat on
The road I walked home in the rain
And there's the star I used to wish on
It all just seems like yesterday
And I stare out this dirty window
As this world goes slowly by
And somewhere out there is the future
That I once thought had passed me by

Review about The Corner Meaning.. | Reviewer: Nickole | 5/26/09
I think this song is about a little boy who saw and heard a lot of bad stuff, and his home was part of it so as the song says it sheltered him from nothing but the weather, the star part is him wishing his life was better and as the song progresses it's the boy getting older and realizing that life hasn't quite yet passed him by.
you know ive been listening to staind since i was ten. im twenty now. when i first heard disfunction i was like every other preteen that thought i had it so bad. and then i heard aaron lewis. and since then it seems like every album they've released was based apon my life at that time. ten years and no regrets keep it up guys. as for the song this hit me in a soft spot on the account that ive recently moved home and its not what it used to be. but best believe the stars still shine.
I cannot believe how they were then, and how they are now. This group has matured way more than I'm sure any of us EVER thought they were. The CD was worth what I paid for it.
They are simply A M A Z I N G .
Nothing but the weather | Reviewer: Jenny | 10/5/08
I can deeply relate to this song. It is different but beautiful in its own way.... Staind has changed but for the better. They have matured as musicians, artists, and song writers... I absolutely love the rest of this cd! It is truly a work of art and worth the money to buy.
