Megadeth The Conjuring Lyrics

Last updated: 06/26/2013 07:03:33 PM

Welcome to out sanguinary sect of worship,
Feel at home in our black conventicle,
As we anathematise,
All of those who oppose us,
Don't summon the devil,
Don't call the priests,
If you need the strength,
The conjuring. Obey!!!

Behold the flames rise,
From the compass' cardinal points,
Burn the sacred oil,
And, with the ashes you'll annoint,

Arrange the symbols,
Of the wizard, and, magician,
Light the candles,
Place the parchment paper in position,
Between its leaves place,
The lash from a black cat's eye,
A straw of a broom,
Fold, and, burn, and, centralise,

Don't summon the devil,
Don't call the priests,
If you need the strength,
The conjuring,

I am the devil's advocate,
A salesman, if you will,
You know my name. [You know my name] ,

I met your father years ago,
Gave him what he'd please,
He called my name, you'll do the same,

I'm claiming what is mine by right,
It's time to close the deal,
You're bought and sold, bought and sold,

Come join me in my infernal depths,
Mephisto's hall of fame
I've got your soul, I've got your soul,
The conjuring. Obey!!!

black magic | Reviewer: louis | 6/26/13

He is reffering to rituals that indeed work but only generalized it.for ex. Symbols of wizard and magicians which refer mostly to the magnetic levitation geometric symbol of the pentagram arranged with magnets which in turn make q portal to magical or unknown dimensions. His knowledge of these rituals were passes down from the free masons, ancient Egyptians and to him by his German father along with the new world order plans

dave hates this song. u know it?

dave: He tells Total Guitar magazine, "Performance wise, 'The Conjuring' is one of the heaviest songs on the record, but unfortunately it's got black magic in it and I promised that I wouldn't play it any more, because there's a lot of instructions for hexes in that song."

"Although it seems kinda corny, anybody who's a Wiccan (witch) or a warlock or anything like that will know that all of that stuff is instrumental."

No shit | Reviewer: Kevin | 6/26/11

No shit it's got nothing to do with "real magic" because there's no such thing. I just find it ironic that two people have commented on the lyrics to this song, remarking on the invalidity of the so-called hexes written therein, only to go on to imply that there exists any sort of such superstitious garbage that could actually work.
As for Dave Mustaine's own beliefs, I really don't see much difference between chanting nonsense with a bunch of other people in a church or doing it in a graveyard at night.

I agree it's BS | Reviewer: Mary | 3/30/11

I've got more wiccan stuff than you can shake a stick at and there ain't nowt in this song that would help me hex anyone. Dave, this has not a song full of hexes, it doesn't rhyme either :) It's harmless.

I call BS | Reviewer: Don | 3/23/11

Rather than accept responsibility for his own flaws, Dave pretends this has anything in any way to do with real magick. It doesn't and he's full of BS if he says it does. It sounds like something from a bad movie rather than the real stuff. Hey, Dave! You got hooked on drugs. Deal with it. It's your flaw, not the fault of some external source.

Meaning of The Conjuring | Reviewer: Chase Carter | 6/14/10

The song is about how Dave used to dabble in black magic, in which he actually claims to have hexed two people successfully. He said he hexed them at age 15 and watched the hex ruin their lives. Dave says he didn't lose Satan's grip on his soul until his mid-30's when he found Christianity. This is such an amazing song though.
