It's a wonderful song, about someone that thinks he's on the wrong way but cant stop and cant change it, but it all might be perfectly right, you just have to see it the right way. RIP Benjamin Orr.

i wanted to come to your defense, because it's not like you were ratting out anyone in particular. then I started thinking about it... and if this is her favorite song, it means that she is passionate, probably genuine emotions, and probably knows she's fking up but cant do anything about it.


truth is, you're both users [users in the elastic sense]... hope that you learn to care about people. Hope people learn how to care about you.

Can't we just enjoy a great tune? Why all the hatin? It's an awesome song. That's why you came to look up the lyrics. Right? Get over all the preachy stuff and just accept where you are RIGHT at this moment.

Like any of you are changing anything by dissing someone that put a lil anecdote up. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go spoon feed some endangered cliff dwelling birds of prey. You know? Like that badass from the Dos Equis beer commercial.

Not only the great musical song-structure of perhaps any of their song (the way they drop the tone and intensity of the synths down just a bit after the understated guitar solo break, the expected cool fade out, the whole shebang), it also has these other qualities: (1) an express mood of loss, displaying a certain level of yearning and maturity to the music, bringing it an emotional depth not as obvious on any of their earlier songs released only 12 months earlier; and 2) that it centers perhaps the band's best vinyl album side. Rock Music of the seventies, in general, was concerned with the album aspect of the creative art and, in my opinion, "Candy O" is every bit of an incredible body of work as the first album.
I also like the way the song's first millisecond seems to start like it's "coming from somewhere" like from the middle of another song or something.
As AMG Rock Music guide says, this song deserved to be a hit record and should have been on their original Greatest Hits album.
