Review about The Butterfly Effect The real meaning. | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Crave performed by The Butterfly Effect
You're wrong. It's about his best friend. There used to be a fourth member of the band but he overdosed. Clint was best friends with him. This song is all about how he craves seeing his friend again but he can't. It's all about how much he misses him and would give anything to see him again. But he can't.

------ About the song Reach performed by The Butterfly Effect
Jesus Holy Christ I'm a Metalhead but this song and a few others of theirs are just genius works of art. Clint has such a sad voice and the intro to this song is just so fucking melancholic. And no I'm not emo. These guys pwn !

------ About the song One Second Of Insanity performed by The Butterfly Effect
This song is intense. Though for the longest time I thought the first line was "Damn you nigger" not "damn you make up your mind." Yeah, the actual lyric makes more sense. xD
Anyway, awesome song. Love it.
Best impulse buy I ever made! | Reviewer: Nicole
------ About artist/band The Butterfly Effect
Imago is beautiful. A rendition of angry-hurt emotion expressed with a mix of longing, fatalism and tenderness. I bought it on impulse at an airport, before I had even heard of the band. The pictures on the cover promised something good and they didnt disappoint. This is rock music for thinkers and dreamers. Sounds good in my car too!

------ About the song Crave performed by The Butterfly Effect
i understand what this means.
but it's split into parts.
now the way im going to explain this is by getting lyrical phrasings and explaining them one by one in a chronological order thru the song.
||||||||SONG:
When you crave
Hurts like slave
More the pain
Hold on when it feels like I only want you
And I'll bleed
Only for you
When you lie
Damaged
I crawl like flies
||||||REVIEW:
now these lines are all expressing feelings about his love for her, even though she doesn't love him back.
except for the last "I crawl like flies"..
If you just think about this for seconds, think of a fly. Do they ever crawl? Sometimes. But they usually fly.
Crawl like flies is his way of saying; so i will just leave you, like the action of a fly jumping off a person to fly to another.
|||||SONG:
Hold on, when it feels like flies, oh, crawling their way through me cause I'm empty, I'm empty like you made me
|||REVIEW:
the flies are crawling thru him,
making him very uncomfourtable and nervous
and he's "empty, empty like you made him"
because he put everything out there for you
and you threw it all away, leaving him empty.
but that's talking about the x'th stanza that describes in the bridge how she likes him, but has fly has already crawled elsewhere (and he's getting married, but he can't).
|||SONG:
When it burns like lies and all I want is you, one time, but it hates me, it hates me like you hate me, like...
||||REVIEW:
and it burns like lies and all i want is you <<<< this part proves the fact that he still has feelings for her, whilst continuing with this other chick.
and then the evolution, he still feels that she hates him (it hates me like you) but the change is that he's not sure (like...)
|||SONG:
yeah you do, crave
|||||REVIEW:
(yeah you do) is the the act of his imaginary response to her telling him otherwise,
allow me to monologue:
"But it hates me,
it hates me like you hate me, like"
but i don't hate you...
"yeah you do..."
.
.
.
the spiteful response for all the wrongs she's sent him
"...crave" he whispers,and confidently walks away
free of her clouding in his mind.. or is he...
scene change, groom and bride at the alter, and background noise is that of the priest reading the matrimony
"....Love.... .... ........ Me ...... ........ Always and forever .... ... ....."
"yeah" he thinks, and continues...
"It's hard to be strong when I crave you(her) like I do"
|||||SONG:
Hold on,when it feels like I'm only waiting you want me now but I'm empty, I'm empty like you made me
|||||REVIEW:
BIG NOTE: Look at the different lyrics between the 2 chorus's.
"Hold on, when it feels like flies, oh, crawling their way through me cause"
"Hold on,when it feels like I'm only waiting you want me now"
the difference between the two not that easily understood but:
"Hold on,when it feels like I'm, only waiting. You want me now"
That difference points out that the change over time, that last review, is completely correct.
because his view of "you want me now" is his realisation over what she said at the wedding
and...
"but I'm empty, I'm empty like you made me"
is him referring to the lies of the past
because in the past he dumped her,
walked away with a confident satisfaction
and that's where you see the whole structure,
him referring back to the past,
thus giving the analyser more proof of an existing and foreseen story.
that was very important,
but to continue...
|||||||SONG:
When it burns like lies and all I want is you, one time, but it hates me, it hates me like you hate me now,
||||||REVIEW:
Continuation in the past analysis of the song,
no change in the lyrics and therefore the same predictable undoreseen ending of their departure
on for the two images of people to fade out...
||||||SONG:
oh i crave you
oh i do
oh i crave you
||||||REVIEW:
the big happy ending
same intro scene of the two standing on the altar in the last wedding
but the different characters are her and him
"oh i crave you"
him knowing that he loves her
"oh i do"
him accepting the 'will you take your lawfully wedded wife... blah blah blah' part read by the altarman
and him dying knowing that he loves her and they live (all assumed) a very long happy life
"oh i crave you" with the downward ending of his "crave you" to be seen as a very clear punctuation of the end of the song.
and almost as much as a "and they lived happily ever after" note.
||||||||FINAL REVIEW:
i, a stoned writer whom will not be named <but rather myspaced (www.myspace.com/mattyboy141... talk to me via message or add me but you must tell me why)>
conclude that the story of The Lyrics from Crave
is of a man whom falls in love
gets his heart broken and had it broken for a long time
and started dating even with a broken heart
then, finds out that his heart isn't broken at that exact time the girl tells him of her heart placement in him
and he rejects her.
only to live life thinking that he could live without her
until the time of a special wedding day,
of which he couldn't lie to himself much longer
which he admits that he loves her only
and realises that she loves him too
that he ditches the wedding
and tries to refind his long lost love
only to end the story with him replaying the scene of marriage
only with her in it.
thank you very much for your attention,
if payed. :)

Best unknown international rock album of 2006! | Reviewer: Freddy (Texas - USA)
------ About the album Imago performed by The Butterfly Effect
An online friend of mine from Australia, knowing my taste in rock music, turned me onto this band. Not having heard them in the US, I found it amazing and even disappointing that a group of musicians with this much talent haven't received the radio play nor recognition on the world music scene it's so obvious they deserve.
The songwriting itself plays to the forefront and everything about their sound is original and superb. From the INCREDIBLY unique guitar tones and rhythm licks, EXCELLENT bass and drum playing, to an EXCEPTIONALLY talented vocalist, this album is a must whether you like pop, rock, metal or even progressive rock. Do yourself and your fellow rock fan friends a huge favor and get this album. You'll be glad you did.
I am really hoping this band scores a deal with a major label that will support a North American tour so I can have the opportunity to see them live. They're flat out THAT GOOD. Best straight up rock album I have heard in a long, long time! Looking forward to more from this band in the years to come.
