The Burning Red Lyrics - Machine Head

Review The Song (10)

The Burning Red

I see the sun begin to rise
And I'm blinded too
I've seen the world through jaded eyes
that I'm crying through
I've watched the darkness hypnotize
And can't fight it

Hold on I'm falling
Can't breathe anymore
An ocean has opened
These scars need to heal over

Caress the needle prick in my eye
The tears fell like rain
I've rode the Phoenix as she glides
And I've gone insane
sponsored links
I've seen the light of suicide
And I'm dying

Hold on I'm falling
Can't breathe anymore
An ocean has opened
These scars need to heal over

Hold on I'm falling can't breathe

Colder and colder
Just hold onto me

Inspirational and beautiful. | Reviewer: Raggy | 8/22/12

I like the placement of this song in the album, as a link back to the beauty of Enter the Phoenix, and a contrast to Desire to Fire's punchyness. But it also sends shivers down my spine, and tears to tumble down my cheeks. Robb Flynn, I pray that, whilst this song is blessedly brilliant, you never do anything to yourself, ever.

Beautiful. | Reviewer: Sarah | 3/31/10

I saw Machine Head the other night and was so shocked when they played this song. I shut my eyes and the most powerful feeling ran through out my whole body when he was singing/playing. I would give anything to go back to that moment again..
Rob Flynn you are truely incredible, thank you.

Wow. | Reviewer: HawK | 1/30/08

i hadn't heard the song in a while and forgot about it, and it just came on earlier and now i can't help but listen to it.

amazing song, but then, i'd expect no less from Rob Flynn.
Great song. Love the emotion.

This song makes me feel the same way Fade To Black does. It's just so emotive. It's heartbreaking! I can't listen to it without feeling like I'm about to well up. It's a wonderful song!

An amazing song | Reviewer: slayer | 12/6/07

I've loved Machine Heads music for a long time and I think this song has the most feeling in it out of all of them and is one of there best in my eyes

The best song ever | Reviewer: | 9/20/07

This song is so beutiful and sad at the same time.
I cant stop hearing it again and again and again and...

Def a favorite | Reviewer: Souleh | 8/22/07

Im in a Machine Head cover band and this song is definatly one of our favorites to play, it has so much feeling and emotions but is inevitably a very tragic song, its hard to come by a song so beautiful in my opinion.

Heart-rending | Reviewer: Asphyxos | 7/6/07

Arguably the best closing track in a metal album. Shows the exhaustion, solitude of Robb Flynn, an emotional side that is naturally absent from the thrashier songs. Brilliant.

the best | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/14/07

is one of the best songs i ever heard... very emotive and sad, but the best one!

Astounding | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/10/07
