In the early part of 1993 Bryan Gray, then the bass player
for "Mortal" and Jim Chaffin then the drummer for "The
Crucified" met on a tour the two bands did together. Soon
after this tour "The Crucified " disbanded. In the Fall of
that same year "Mortal" recorded their third release, and
being in between drummers asked Jim to sit in. Soon after
Bryan approached Jim about being in a new band called "the
"Blamed. Their first album was recorded in the beginning of
1994 and released through Tooth and Nail Records.

"the Blamed" toured extensively through '94 and '95
including appearances at several of the larger summer
Christian music festivals. During these years the band
toured with several other bands including but not limited
to "Mortal", "Circle of Dust", "Living More...
