The Beaches of Cheyenne Lyrics - Garth Brooks

Review The Song (3)

The Beaches of Cheyenne

They packed up all his buckles
And shipped his saddle to his dad
By the way the house looked
She must have took it bad
The workers come on Monday
To fix the door and patch the wall
They say she just went crazy
The night she got the call

Well he was up in Wyoming
And drew a bull no man could ride
He promised her he'd turn out
Well it turned out that he lied
And all the dreams that they'd been livin'
In the California sand
Died right there beside him
sponsored links
in Cheyenne

They say she just went crazy
Screamin' out his name
She ran out into the ocean
And to this day they claim
That if you go down by the water
You'll see her footprints in the sand
'Cause every night she walks the beaches of Cheyenne

They never found her body
Just her diary by the bed
It told about the fight they had
And the words that she had said
When he told her he was ridin'
She said then I don't give a damn
If you never come back from Cheyenne

They say she just went crazy
Screamin' out his name
She ran out into the ocean
And to this day they claim
That if you go down by the water
You'll see her footprints in the sand
'Cause every night she walks the beaches of Cheyenne

Nobody can explain it
Some say she's still alive
They even claim they've seen her
On the shoreline late at night
'Cause if you go down by the water
You'll see her footprints in the sand
'Cause every night she walks the beaches of Cheyenne

Every night she walks the beaches of Cheyenne

great song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/2/11

I love this song. At first when I was little I didn`t kow what it meant, but now I know exactly what it means. The couple had a fight before he left for Wyoming, and she was so devastated when he died, and she was mad at herself for saying all those things so she ran into the ocean and drown. But basiclly the lesson of the song is to be careful what you say,or something like that.

Have you ever been on a beach late at night? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/24/05

I love the song, The Beaches Of Cheyenne. The melody is haunting and so are the words. If you grew near the sea, as I did, the melody sounds just like the waves hitting the beach at slack tide late at night. And then there are the words. It is so easy to, in a moment of anger, blurt out words you instantly regretted saying and then never had the change to tell that special person that how sorry you were because you spoke without considering the consequences? The next time you listen to this song, listen to the sound of waves and remember the lesson The Beaches Of Cheyenne teaches.

I love this song! | Reviewer: Ashley | 8/25/04

This is one of my favorite songs. It's so good. And I really love Wyoming, and I miss being there. So I love this song alot mostly because it reminds me of Wyoming! This is one of Garth Brook's best songs. And not that many people know it. But if your a fan of Garth Brooks this is a song you should know.
