After engineering The Beatles' ABBEY ROAD and Pink Floyd's
DARK SIDE OF THE MOON (which won him a Grammy) Alan Parsons
met Eric Woolfson. Since both of them shared the same
interests they decided to take up the then-fashionable
'concept album' format to showcase their talents. They
used singers who suited the type of song they had written
and the band PILOT formed their session musicians.

In 1976 the duo released their first album titled TALES OF
MYSTERY AND IMAGINATION. Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's
literary classic, the album soared to the Top 40 US
charts. The group's 1977 record I ROBOT inspired by Issac
Asimov, rose to number 9 in America and established a
strong fan following in the States.

    i love this song mainly cuz its the name and kinda really short version of my fav. poem by Edgar A. Poe

    either way its an great song but its too distorted at the beginning and i had no idea what they we're saying in till i had looked up the lyrics.
