After engineering The Beatles' ABBEY ROAD and Pink Floyd's
DARK SIDE OF THE MOON (which won him a Grammy) Alan Parsons
met Eric Woolfson. Since both of them shared the same
interests they decided to take up the then-fashionable
'concept album' format to showcase their talents. They
used singers who suited the type of song they had written
and the band PILOT formed their session musicians.
In 1976 the duo released their first album titled TALES OF
