Tulsa, OK has never been what one might consider a petri dish for talent. Besides being the hometown of now-fading stardom of the Hanson brothers, Tulsa is little more than a restroom break when you're going across country. All of that is about to change with the birth of Tulsa natives The Agony Scene and their debut self-titled release that drops on June 10, 2003. With viper like subtlety the Agony Scene's debut starts with a ferocious bite. There's little build up except for a short swell of distortion and what soon transpires happens with such utter abandon that it can only be compared to some vulgar stigmata-like appearance. Ever since I watched the video for the song that is included on the game as an extra, I've been hooked. I love this song, it's one of the few that I'm totally addicted to. Me being a drummer, I love this song for the opening drum riffs, when I get another bass pedal for my set, I look forward to being able to imitate the opening riff to perfection. To the average closed minded fool, it would sound like generic Metalcore with a tinge of emo, but scratch the surface and what you find deeper is potential to be a class band. All they need is one chance to prove how good they are, and they've taken it head on in my opinion.
