Agonist (formerly The Tempest) is a metalcore band from Canada signed to Century Media Records Originally from Montreal agonist consists of vocalist Alissa White-Gluz guitarist Danny Marino, bassist Chris Kells and drummer Simon McKay

They released their first album just once Imagined on August 14, 2007 Released August 28, 2007 video on Business suits and Combat Boots was filmed by acclaimed director David Brodsky (Strapping Young Lad, Gwar, God forbid) ... The film was number six videos of 2007 on MTV2's Head Banger's Ball Mini-video of ... and their eulogy Sang me to sleep off the album Lullabies for resting the mind also was filmed by director David Brodsky was released April 18, 2009

The agonist is best known for white-Gluz's fartyIty att use both clean vocals and metal growls guitarist Danny Marino, nephew of guitar legend Frank Marino (Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush) uses a melodic yet aggressive guitar playing makes Agonist music both catchy and heavy agonist can also be identified by their creative bass lines of Chris Kells and Simon McKay intense and energetic drumming is also known for its environmental awareness song's themes often revolve around moral issues such as animal rights community, social dilemmas and the state of our world

After releasing their first album (August 2007) Agonist toured extensively playing with bands like God forbid Arsis The faceless Sonata Arctica, Overkill Epica, Visions of Atlantis and Enslaved

One of the band's tour was marred when dessutrusMEASUREMENT trailer was damaged in a snowstorm in the Rocky Mountains

White-Gluz appeared once on Canadian Idol and was named one of "the hottest chicks in metal" in July 2007 by Revolver She also appeared as a "hottest chick in metal" in May 2009 issue of Revolver

The band released their second album called Lullabies for resting the mind in March 2009

According to Wikipedia, a 3rd album is currently written and will be released in 2011
