It's been twenty years since The Jam's Paul Weller released his first solo album. On March 27, the legendary musical artist is due to release his 11th, Sonik Kicks. Preceding a two-night stint at the Best Buy Theater in New York City on May 18 and 19 (his only in North America this year), Weller has premiered a brightly lit music video for the cut "That Dangerous Age."
The 53-year-old Weller is in gently self-mocking mode on a song
initially inspired by onlookers' reactions to the age gap between him
and his young wife Hannah (more of whom later).
A not altogether serious study of a perceived mid-life crisis, the
falsetto backing vocals and clipped funky rhythms owe a debt to Motown
and Stax, although the descending chords of the bridge are closer to 60s
