Wow, just watched the "Touched by an Angel" rerun on Hallmark channel. I'd seen it years ago but I bawled my eyes out again. Wynonna Judd's country version of this really hit me tonight. The song talks about seeing God's love and provision in the beauties of creation, but the line "I'll be a witness in the silences when words are not enough" was more poignant for this "Touched" episode, as she knew that if she finiahed writing this song, the angels would take her young son up to heaven because he was dying of cancer. It's when we don't feel like we're on top of the world looking around at God's handiwork, when we don't hear a choir singing or a band playing, that we still need to remember God's love, that He is still there even when He's quiet and life hurts.
I'm a Baptist minister who had to serve 3 months jail time last year when I didn't do anything knowingly wrong, so I can relate. When God is silent, we have to be a witness that He is still there because of what we've seen of his glories in better circumstances for us. And even if there's not many enjoyable times on this earth that come back, we have eternity with Jesus in the mansions of glory waiting for us (John 14)!

I first heard this song as I watched an episode of "Touched By An Angel" with my girlfriend, now fiance'. Wow!! I cannot get enough of this episode or the song. Powerful, inspiring, rejoicing, loving, comforting are just a few of the words I use to describe this song. It never fails to bring me to tears everytime I see it and hear it because you DO feel it, the overwhelming love, joy and peace. I've been blessed, truely blessed for my fiance' who has re-introduced me to our Lord and Savior as I had slowly drifted away from Him. I am eternally grateful to her for that. I have a re-newed faith and outlook in life and look forward to many years with my love and our Lord and Savior in my life.

The first time l heard this song, was few years ago while watching 'Touched by an Angel'. l loved the series and this song simply bought tears to my eyes and unusual praise from my heart. The song takes me back to the civic center in Portland, Maine when Avalon broke out into this song just as I recognized a pastor friend and fellow teacher in the sea of faces seated on the floor space. We exchanged waves and smiles and I was happy for him because I knew he loved this song. Since then he passed on due to cancer in his late forties, sadly missed. But I always feel so lifted by this song,the lyrics and the music just energizing me in such a vibrant way that draws me to God's heart and His sovereignty. Since then I've published my story of domestic violence to help others avoid it or escape it.(bewareofthedogbook.com) Amazingly as I've reread some of it lately, I realize that throughout my story I have testified to God's love and for that I am so thankful, that my experiences have brought me to this wonderful faith in our God. God is so amazing. No matter where you've been, where you are or where you may go, God's love and grace is there right behind you. When you feel the world is crumbling underneath you and when you feel like there is no one to turn to, He is always there. Oh, the hope and the peace and strength and encouragment that we could give with our own testimony of God's love! This song is so inspiring and encouraging.

The first time I heard this on the radio was shortly after my Dad had died. I cried. I have made a point to "testify to God's love" since then, because it was God who got me through those final months of dad's life. You see, I live in eastern Ohio and dad was in western PA. God's love and strength made it possible to work here and go there every week. I carry Avalon's CD in my truck to this day and when I'm tired or discouraged I play that song and sing along. It just makes me feel better because once again I realize that God is all around us and loves us.
This song is also the ringtone on my cell phone when my wife of 35 years calls me.

I first heard it on 90.9FM on the radio and I nearly cried...This song is incredibly inspirational and truly shows the world how important it is to testify God's love to anyone and everyone. I will put this song on my iPod and i will listen to it until the day I die...My children will hear it and it will go on for generations showing my family the true colors of God's heart and what an important part of their lives He is. This song's lyrics are amazing! First heard it performed by Wynonna Judd on an episode of Touched By An Angel years ago. I bawled like a baby when I heard it. Still brings tears now. There are so many reasons in our every day life that allow us to testify to the whole world that God loves us! So many reason to give our thanks!
