Temple Of The Dog Lyrics

I want to show you something, like joy inside my heart
Seems I been living in the Temple Of The Dog
Where would I live if I were a man of golden words
Or would I live at all
Words and music - my only tools
- Andy Wood, "Man of Golden Words"

Temple Of The Dog. The project is almost legend now in the
histories of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, and the name
inspires respect and a kind of awe from fans of both those
bands. It's also been a project to which many
misconceptions and misunderstandings are attached; how,
who, and More...

------ About the song Call Me A Dog performed by Temple Of The Dog

I've been listening to Chris Cornell for as long as I can remember. I've gotten back into singing and pull a lot of influence from his singing into my own. Love his writting and his singing style.

------ About the song Wooden Jesus performed by Temple Of The Dog

as an atheist and inevitable forever ignorant in every sense of the word, i believe this song is an amazing demonstration of how manipulation will never cease and people will always have the need of being guided and told what to do. it will always be funny how we all like to believe we are absolutely free and do and think whatever we want to, while in fact we are always being controlled and contaminated by external thoughts and actions. freedom is really scary... are you willing to live this life? do you know what it really means?

------ About the song Hunger Strike performed by Temple Of The Dog

I literally love everything about this song. There is really nothing I can say about it that hasn't already been said. To me, it just is absolute perfection. It is also one of the few songs that has the power to move me to tears.

Fantastic.

------ About the song Call Me A Dog performed by Temple Of The Dog

"It doesn't bother me as long as you know
Bad luck will follow you
If you keep me on a leash and
You drag me along"

This entire line, everytime he belts this line out, I feel that, I get goosebumps everytime. Because I relate to this so much. The entire song, I can feel it, and I relate to it in the worst of ways as of late. But that line, right there, the way he stretches out the word "Along" and rises up to that moment. That's what seperates Chris Cornell from everybody else I've ever heard sing. This song is a classic. And highly, highly underrated and underappreciated. Music isn't like it use to be. And this is coming from a 22 year old that was probably lucky to be five or six when this was released...

------ About the song Hunger Strike performed by Temple Of The Dog

Temple Of The Dog was formed, and recorded the self titled album BEFORE Pearl jame was formed. TOTD was formed as a tribute to Andrew Wood of Mother Love Bone. Maybe you should learn the history before telling someone else they are wrong.

------ About the song Hunger Strike performed by Temple Of The Dog

"For the record this song was done before Pearl Jam existed. This song was actually the first time Eddie Vedder was recorded professionally.

That being said, it's an absolutely beautiful song. This was before Chris Cornell sold out."

Not true. This song was recording and released in 1991, Pearl Jam formed in 1990. PJ's first album was Ten, released in August '91, where as ToaD was released in April of that year. Not much difference.

Amazing song nonetheless.
