Telescope Eyes Lyrics

Performed by Eisley
Review The Song (15)

Ohh,
You humor me today,
Calling me out to play,
With your telescope eyes, metal teeth,
I can't be seen with you, you see

Please don't make me cry,
Please don't make me cry,
I'm just like you I know you know,
I'm just like you so leave me alone,

I wonder, why can't you see,
You're just not near enough like me,
With your telescope eyes,
Metal teeth, I, can't be seen with you,

Please don't make me cry,
Please don't make me cry,
I'm just like you I know you know,
Im just like you so leave me alone,

Please don't make me cry,
Please don't make me cry,
I'm just like you I know you know,
I'm just like you so leave me alone,

Please don't make me cry,
Please don't make me cry,
I'm just like you I know you know,
I'm just like you so leave me alone.

Oh, you humor me today...

You're all | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/8/12

idiots.

Stop making assumptions about homosexuality, suicide, and things that are completely out of your realm of expertise. Especially about homosexuality. No where in this song do they mention it, so the fact that you're getting that from this song obviously says something about you. Take that for what you will. I just think it makes you look like an uneducated jerkoff.

She's talking about herself? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/30/10

I can't help but to think that she is singing a song to the view she has of herself. You know taht awkward stage most kids go through and they feel so ugly? I picture her looking in the mirror seeing her old, true, self and she hates it. She had bad memories of who she was. Maybe she was picked on? But...that's how I interpret this song. i think it's beautiful

well... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/16/10

i saw the song differently... based on myself and how it reached me. most of my life i havent had many friends cause im homeschooled. (it seems public/private schoolers dont have a life outside of that) anyway, no one has ever been outright rude, on purpose, they just kind of regard me as something alien. and whenever im alone and abandoned i find myself choked up and teary eyed singing the chorus... (ew, how depressing) but it really helps to calm me down.

Outcasts | Reviewer: Kayla | 5/15/09

I guess in general it is in fact about being that of the unfamiliar. You may not know anything about me, or where i come from, or why i am the way i am, but im human just like all of you and i bleed and i hurt and i cry just like you. This song has a voice, if you give it enough time to speak then you may learn somthing new.

Matthew Shepard | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/21/09

Matthew Shepard didn't commit suicide, he was tortured and killed because he was gay. the beating was so severe that the only areas on his face that were not covered in blood were those where his tears had washed the blood stains away. the Matthew Shepard Act (adding gays to the protection of hate crime laws) hasnt passed yet cause BUSH vetoed it.

Far as I know.... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/9/08

Yes the song was inspired by that kid but is not really about him totally. They are talking about two kids that live near each other and is a conversation between the both, the geeky kid wants to hang out but the other normal kid doesn't want to be seen with her with her glasses and braces and such. The one explains to the other, well you say we are similar but we really have nothing in common. ***FIRE***

Erm? | Reviewer: Anna | 11/23/08

Well, I don't know if I'm failing to see a metaphor but this is what -I- think the obvious thing the song is about is:
I think it's about a girl, shes superstitious, She is haunted by this ghost that's a bit mixed between reality and mind, and shes scared of it, but when she stops believing in it, it leaves her alone.

Dear Mathew | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/1/08

As far as I know the Matthew in the song was a guy who committed suicide because he was always bullied, but he was bullied because he was gay. He was like the reason for a new hate crime law. I don't think they knew him personally, he was from someplace far away like Montana.

Great song. | Reviewer: Liz | 1/3/08

I think its about someone that gets picked on... telling the popular kids that hang out with her as a joke to stop picking on her and to just leave her alone because deep down they are just like her, and they know it, they just wont admit it.

blablablaa, werewolves? wtf | Reviewer: shaa | 12/30/07

okayyy, here's the story

it was once posted on their website that the song is about a boy they knew named Matthew, who was always bullied, and as a result, killed himself. It used to say "dear Matthew", but was changed due to the family's wishes.

go cry go run away
let your short legs carry you away
with you big dress and your dirty hair
your pen's waiting for you
just get far far away from me
i dont want your disease

yeahhh, bully bully. wtf?*getting carried away :P

Werewolfs? | Reviewer: Kaltag | 12/9/07

I think you're right, it's about outcasts. But it sounds to me like it's about two gay people in the closet. They can't be seen with each other or people will suspect. "I'm just like you I know you know/ I'm just like you so leave me alone" fits with it too. That's just what it sounds like to me, who knows. And I'm not in any way implying whoever wrote the song is gay, by the way.

different | Reviewer: kelsey | 9/9/07

i have a different version of this song, it goes

oh you humor me today
calling me out to play
with your telescope eyes, metal teeth
i cant be seen with you, you freak

go cry go run away
let your short legs carry you away
with you big dress and your dirty hair
your pen's waiting for you
just get far far away from me
i dont want your disease

then the rest is the same it starts the "please dont make me cry..."

Yes... | Reviewer: Christine | 8/1/07

I agree with Jessica. The song tells about a love that can seemingly never be because they are both outcasts, though not made for each other. The feel of it makes the song sad, yet at the same time, wondefully written.

Ha ha... | Reviewer: Lynette | 6/26/07

Your review reminds me of remus lupin or something. Yes, yes, I know: Harry Potter reference. But your talk of werewolf outcasts made me think of the whole HP shpeal on the ostracising of werewolves and whatnot in wizard society.

...oh my lord | Reviewer: Jessica | 4/24/07

I love this song, its like...sad in a way...
for somereason every time I hear it I think about two people being out cast because they are Werewolfs....
anyone else feel that way? XD
but yeah WOUNDERFUL SONG! ^.^
