Let me tell you how it will be,
There’s one for you, nineteen for me,
‘Cause I’m the Taxman,
Yeah, I’m the Taxman.
Should five per cent appear too small,
Be thankful I don’t take it all.
‘Cause I’m the Taxman,
Yeah, I’m the Taxman.

(If you drive a car ), I’ll tax the street,
(If you try to sit ), I’ll tax your seat,
(If you get too cold ), I’ll tax the heat,
(If you take a walk ), I’ll tax your feet.
Taxman.

‘Cause I’m the Taxman,
Yeah, I’m the Taxman.
Don’t ask me what I want it for
(Haha! Mister Wilson!)
If you don’t want to pay some more
(Haha! Mister Heath!),
‘Cause I’m the Taxman,
Yeah, I’m the Taxman.

Now my advice for those who die, (Taxman!)
Declare the pennies on your eyes, (Taxman!)
‘Cause I’m the Taxman,
Yeah, I’m the Taxman.
And you’re working for no-one but me,
(Taxman).

"Be thankful I don’t take it all." | Reviewer: Windy Wilson | 7/25/14

At the time, "Be thankful I don’t take it all" was a real threat, as at that time through the 70's there was a level of income in Sweden above which the tax rate was more than 100%, so the taxpayer could wind up with less than if he made less!

This song is so funny! I just love "if you take a walk, i'll tax your feet...." etc. etc.
They must have been republicans, ha ha ha
And the guitar is unbelievable - oh, the magic of Harrison's fingers.

If George Harrison I wouldn't even mind paying taxes! I love this song, I don't however like the fact that George didn't have really any help writing this song and Paul did lead guitar on this song. Oh well, good song George!
