Talk Show on Mute Lyrics - Incubus

Review The Song (7)

Take a bow
a gun powder
Wash 'em out with buzzing lights
Pay an audience to care
'Impress me' personality

Still and transfixed
The electric sheep are dreaming of your face
Enjoy you from the chemical
Comfort of America

Come one, come all
Into nineteen-eightyfour
Yeah, three, two, one...
Lights! cameras! Transaction!

Quick, Your time is almost up
Make all forget that they're the moth
Edging in towards the flame
sponsored links
Burning to obscurity

Still and transfixed
The electric sheep but dreaming up your fate
We judge you from the card castle
Comfort of America

Come one, come all
Into nineteen-eightyfour
Yeah, three, two, one...
Lights! camera!
Yeah!
Come one, come all
Into Nineteen-eightyfour
Yeah, three, two, one...
Lights, cameras! Transaction!

Lights, cameras! Transaction!

Come one, come all
Into Nineteen-eightyfour
Yeah, three, two, one...
Lights, cameras! Transaction!

Your foundation is canyoning
Fault lines should be worn with pride
I hate to say it (but)
You're so much more,
You're so much more
endearing with
the sound turned off

Come One Come All Into Ninteen Eighty Four Yeah Three Two One Lights Camera Transaction. COCAINE (FYTTOLCT). I don't know what the rest of the acronym means, or even if it means anything, but I think the first part was intentional. One interpritation could be that talk shows and tv are like drugs, and we'll watch them anyways, even if there's no sound coming out. 1984 was also a famous book by George Orwell about a world where BIG BROTHER (the governement) is watching your every move. I think it's more of the first thought, especially because of the last line in the song, plus what shamu1001 said.

This song is purely amazing mainly because it is not written just for your entertainment. It has purpose and meaning. The reviewer shamu1001 said it perfectly and simply.

Can't believe no review of this song yet... | Reviewer: shamu1001 | 4/11/07

Not a big fan of Incubus at all, but a few songs stand out, this being one, along with Drive. Obviously a critique of the modern pop-culture/society in which an entire nation can be manipulated through in the comforts of their living rooms. All the kids can't shut up about how they want to be this and that celebrity, seemingly faultless and perfect. But faults and flaws are what make all of us unique, "fault lines should be worn with pride."
Excellent song.
