We're talking away
I don't know what
I'm to say
I'll say it anyway
Today's another day to find you
Shying away
I'll be coming for your love, OK?
Take on me (take on me)
Take me on (take on me)
I'll be gone
In a day or two
So needless to say
I'm odds and ends
But I'll Be
Stumbling away
Slowly learning that life is OK.
Say after me:
"It's no better to be safe than sorry."
Take on me (take on me)
Take me on (take on me)
I'll be gone
In a day or two
Oh, the things that you say
Is it life or
Just to play my worries away?
You're all the things
I've got to remember
You're shying away
I'll be coming for you anyway
Take on me (take on me)
Take me on (take on me)
I'll be gone
In a day...
(Take on me, take on me)
(Take me on, take on me)
I'll be gone (take on me)
In a day... (take me on)
Take on me (take on me)
Take on me (take me on)
Take on me (fades)

Review about Take On Me Awesome song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/3/09
This classic takes back to my High School years I had the record and I would set it to play on the automatic record changer over and over and over and never got sick of it maybe my parents did hearing it comming from my room! Really I enjoyed all of A-Ha's songs but Take on me is the one the band will be most remembered for as for the video I grew up in the Country so I never seen it untill much later becuse we did not have access to cable TV
awesome song! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/14/09
It's a fantastic song, apparantly the song that made A-HA famous. The video is also done very well. A few years ago I became obbssed with A-HA and I just couldn't go to sleep without hearing take on me, soon they'll have a new album out and hopefully I will find it for a cheap price and buy it!
Boy! What a memory it is! This mid 80's masterpiece by A-ha was & still my favorite tune after all these years! I was 16 or 17 yrs old if I'm not mistaken when it hit the air waves back then! Now at 44 & a daddy, I will let my 13 yrs old girl to enjoy it like I did many years back! It gives me the goose bumps every time I hear it! Long live the 80's!
I was born in 1978 and was so also very young when this song first came out, I saw it on the telly a few times and had no clue who sang it but I just knew I absolutely love it.. For many years the song and video remained a somewhat hazy memory until the day I caught sight of it playing on a cable music channel..
Transfixed and filled with emotion, this song brought me straight back to my childhood, really felt the chills watching the video too. I really believe it's
the support from video which helps make this song so effective and unforgettable.
So far, everyone's review on this song hasn't failed to mention how amazing the video is also.
My 2 children aged 11 and 5 have also been touch by the magic in this song and video. They watch it on You Tube and often ask me to play it in the car too!
Really proves to me that good, effective music can truely be enjoyed, appreciate and remembered no matter what age or generation your born in.
I was just a wee thing when this song came out, but that didn't stop me from loving the song and the video (not to mention thinking that they were the most beautiful men alive=-) Does anyone have any info behind the lyrics? I'm very curious to know what the motivation was behind writing the song.
Talk to me someone!
Peace, love, and lyrics,
Rox-the one and only
I agree with Kit's review.
I definitely think I was born in the wrong era, though I was just a couple of months too late. :P
But by the time I was born, many of the different styles of music were still being affected by the 80's.
I love anything to do with the 80's, from peoples clothing, to their style of music. It's just all so fascinating.

this song is really the only good song to have come out by a-ha. or, at least the most popular. while i agree the songs annoying, i like to see u hit that note again...and again..and again. also, the videos freakin' awesome
a-ha is RULEZ | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/2/08
This song was called Lesson One when a-ha recorded a demo of it at Paul Waaktaar-Savoy`s house.I heard Lesson One,and it was absolutely rubbish.
Thank god they remade it as Take On Me.And I absolutely love the video for Take On Me.It shows a girl reading a comic with Morten in it.He comes out of the comic and takes the girl inside with him and starts dancing to the song.Hope you enjoyed my review. This is a-ha is RULEZ and from me,it is goodbye.
Best song Ever | Reviewer: Ryan | 10/9/07
When I was 18 this song came out and I just loved it, the song and the video. My friends and I use to listen to it on the way to Pass A Grill beach in Florida. After twenty some years I still get the chills from this song. This band rocks!!!
