The archduke's death was an assassination and he was killed when he was in a car but the person who killed him attempted to earier that day and failed so later, when they saw the archduke, he succeeded in killing him. And yes, it sparked ww1. i can't help but believe they may be hinting at that, especially because of the band's name but maybe the song is not entirely about that. I guess the only way of knowing would be to hear it straight from the horses mouth. in the meantime, great song!!
