Oh baby don't you know I suffer?
Oh baby can't you hear me moan?
You caught me under false pretences
How long before you let me go?
oooh...You set my soul alight
oooh...You set my soul alight
(oooh...You set my soul alight)
Glacier's melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive
(oooh...You set my soul alight)
Glacier's melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive
I thought I was a fool for no-one
Oh baby I'm a fool for you
You're the queen of the superficial
And how long before you tell the truth
oooh...You set my soul alight
oooh...You set my soul alight
(oooh...You set my soul alight)
Glacier's melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive
(oooh...You set my soul alight)
Glacier's melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive
(sucked into the supermassive)
Supermassive black hole
Supermassive black hole
Supermassive black hole
Supermassive black hole
ohhhhhhhhh ohhhhhhhh
Glaciers melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive
Glaciers melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive
(oooh...You set my soul alight)
Glacier's melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive
(oooh...You set my soul)
Glacier's melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive
Supermassive black hole
Supermassive black hole
Supermassive black hole
Supermassive black hole

Review about Supermassive Black Hole Not about Twilight | Reviewer: unknownpersonality | 11/1/09
Okay, I admit it, I hadn't heard of Muse before Twilight. I bought the soundtrack because I liked the music, not because it was Twilight.
I like this song because of the soundtrack.
I'm going to look up more stuff by Muse, I just haven't had time to do so.
Anyway, Twilight is starting to annoy me. It's the plot. Don't get me wrong, it's a good story, but I find it disturbing that anyone would want to become immortal because of their boyfriend being a vampire.
People change. What if Bella were to wake up one day years after Breaking Dawn was finished and suddenly realize that she didn't love Edward anymore? What then?
Also, they were together for, what, a year before she got turned into a vampire and cursed with immortality? You can't get to know someone enough to decide that they're your soul mate withing a space of twelve months.
Yes, I just said immortality is a curse. Think about it before you say your want to live forever. Until Jesus comes back--and that could be at any time--how could you live for Him when you don't have a soul? (Technically, that was what Bella did, she gave her soul to Edward.)
Now that the rational side of my mind has gone through the book series, I wish that Edward had left her human or the Italian vampires had killed him. Then she could have had a normal life.
P.S. The Hose is another book by the person who wrote Twilight, and The Host is WAY better.
Yay Guitar Hero! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/25/09
Oh my gosh, wow. I love Muse so much. But I have to be honest, I found them via Guitar Hero 3. Knights of Cydonia became my favorite song on that game so I checked out the band and instantly fell in love with all of their songs. I have Black Holes and Revalations, Origin of Symmetry, Absolution, Showbiz, both Hullaballoo CD's and just recently The Resistance.
I have only known this band since the beginning of 2008 but I know of their work and I think all the people who say they love Muse just from Supermassive Black Hole are total fakes: And believe me there are alot of people like that at my school - They know NOTHING of their work.... And if anyone wants to rebut me on the reason I hate it, it is because some people who say they love this band, actually don't know any other of their songs. Muse is too good for such a movie - it is insulting to their title.
Sorry, I just had to get that out, it makes me angry that such an amazing band has become so generic. GRRRRRRRR.
Anyways, I love this song and I think it's about loving someone who may not be perfect, they might be a head-strong rebel but you're attracted to that so it gives you very mixed emotions. (I'm sure there's a deeper meaning to it than that, but reading it as it is written and taking it literally, that's the best I can come up with! Ha, all those video games have melted my brain, but Muse has melted my soul.)
is an amazing band.
and i agree that they were wayy amazing before twilight came out. i dont like twilight at all. bbut this song is perhaps very enlightning to listen to. starlight is still a far better song though.

to 'a muse fan WAY before twilight': for starters, twilight didn't really explode Muse's profile, they were already massive due, in part, to tracks like Hysteria/Time is Running Out, but largely due to Starlight, which got tons of radio play and made them far more internationally famous. Twilight did expand their fanbase a little maybe, but it isn't the reason they're playing MTV, it's because MTV would molest babies if it thought it would make them money. Also, Radiohead already had a song on Twilight: 15 step, during the credits. So the idea that Radiohead are doing it because they want some of the action can't be right. The real problem with Muse being in the Twilgiht soundtrack is that they could have picked a far better song!
Oh yeah, God FORBID that someone discovers band via a movie, no matter how "crappy" that movie may be | Reviewer: A Muse fan WAY before Twilight | 8/9/09
Get over yourselves, you posers. You guys are no better than the people that claim to like Muse because of Twilight. Muse gained a HORDE of new fans because of a blockbuster film, is that such a bad thing? I discovered Muse by watching their "Starlight" video on Fuse, if Fuse was considered "uncool" to watch, would that make me lame by discovering an awesome band through that network? Come on people, grow up and get a life. The people that heard SBH through Twilight will look for the song, find it on the BH&R album, listen to the album, like the album, listen to the other albums, and then like Muse as a whole and become converted Muse fans. Where's the downside in that? And even for the people that ONLY like SBH, by liking the song, they blew up Muse's profile and they end up finally getting the recognition they deserve. Why do you think Muse will be performing at the MTV Video Music Awards? Because MTV cares about indie artists at this point? No, because of their popularity among Twilight fans. And because of that, Muse will be opening doors not just for themselves, but for other indie bands as well, to be introduced to mainstream audiences who would appreciate some of the good, underground acts out there. And by the way, Radiohead will have a song featured on New Moon. Sounds to me like they've seen how having a song featured in Stephanie Meyers' film served Muse pretty damn well, and now they want some of that as well.
I'll admit, I'd never heard of Muse before Twilight. I started listening to the music and fell in love with the band after hearing it in the movie. I'm not one of the people who are like "OMG Muse wrote an awesome song for the Baseball scene!!" I happen to know that the song came out long before Twilight, thank you very much. I'm not ignorant.
Now that I've admited all of that, I can say this without someone taking it wrong. I FREAKING LOVE MUSE!!!
I'm done now.
muse's music goes waayyyy above supermassive black hole. it's sad that many people only know them because of that one song which i consider quite misplaced on their album but the rest of it is GREAT!!which makes up 100%...man, take a bow and invincible are my favorites!!! but yeah, darn twilight because it makes muse look like a band that only produces songs for a bunch of silly vampires playing "thunder"ball...lol...ah well, the books are good so i guess i have to suck it up. go twilight(books) and MUSE!
terrible | Reviewer: citizenerased | 7/16/09
this is by far the worst Muse song, and it's really disappointing to see it as one of their most popular all because of the Twilight saga. this sounds nothing at all like any of their other songs, with the exception of micro cuts, which also god awful. Muse has written some amazing songs, and I'm really looking forward to their new cd, and they rock live. they're an awesome band, and it's a bummer that this is their most recognized song right now.
no way twilight extra gay | Reviewer: kraidos360 | 7/16/09

THIS SONG WAS NOT MADE JUST FOR TWILIGHT | Reviewer: Jade | 7/14/09
Dont ever get me wrong, I love twilight, Stephanie Meyers did an incredible job on the BOOK. However, it annoys me to NO end when people give something or someone credit where in this case it is due to something entirely different. Im suprised Muse was good enough to let them use the song. I adore Muse, and it just annoys me when some fangirls refer to it as 'the baseball song from twilight' I am a huge fan of twilight, but I mean, come on, listen to these guys their so much better then that
