Pink Floyd Summer '68 Lyrics

Last updated: 10/26/2014 01:17:04 PM

Would you like to say something before you leave?
Perhaps you'd care to state exactly how you feel.
We say goodbye before we've said hello.
I hardly even like you. I shouldn't care at all.
We met just six hours ago. The music was too loud.
From your bed I came today and lost a bloody year.
And I would like to know,

How do you feel? How do you feel, how?
How do you feel? How do you feel, how?

Not a single word was said. They lied still without fears.
Occasion'lly you showed a smile, but what was the need?
I felt the cold far too soon in a wind of ninety-five.
My friends are lying in the sun, I wish that I was there.
Tomorrow brings another town, another girl like you.

Have you time before you leave to greet another man
Just you let me know,

How do you feel? How do you feel, how?
How do you feel? How do you feel, how?

Goodbye to you.
Charlotte Pringles' due.
I've had enough for one day.

It is not "Childish bangles too" | Reviewer: David | 3/20/14

I believe the above referenced lyric is incorrectly characterized as a lyric. The consensus has always been that this lyric is actually "Charlotte Kringles' due." This would make perfect sense considering the rest of the lyrics and the theme of the song.

On a personal note, Summer '68 is one of my favorite Rick Wright on lead vocals song. RIP Rick!!!

I love the change of music!! Truly amazing! Why couldn't I have been born in a time like this. (I'm a twelve year old fan)

beautifully repeatable | Reviewer: tony palmer | 3/6/13

only one danger - it is music of such beauty & renown which sticks and repeated so easily in one's mind, i'm unsure to deletion attempts or to let it ride. it may be a journey of no return. i suppose anyone who is living in Atom Heart Mother(land) would be unable to advise. or can you?? Wish i was there

This is a Wright song that was on the Atom Heart Mother album. Wright wrote radio playable music that was still palatable to the psychedelic crowd although it may have had a tint of pop. the instrumentation on this album, let alone this song, is spectacular. The horns fill up the space in an entirely Pink Floyd, British sort of way. Despite some of its more insane meanderings, this album may be enjoyed on its own, as a sigular ceation, and an outstanding work of the Pink Floyd collection.
