Good morning, son.
I am a bird
Wearing a brown polyester shirt
You want a coke?
Maybe some fries?
The roast beef combo's only $9.95
It's okay, you don't have to pay
I've got all the change
Everybody knows
It hurts to grow up
And everybody does
It's so weird to be back here
Let me tell you what
The years go on and
We're still fighting it, we're still fighting it
And you're so much like me
I'm sorry
Good morning, son
In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
It was pain
Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things
Everybody knows
It sucks to grow up
And everybody does
It's so weird to be back here.
Let me tell you what
The years go on and
We're still fighting it, we're still fighting it
You'll try and try and one day you'll fly
Away from me
Good morning, son
I am a bird
It was pain
Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things
Everybody knows
It hurts to grow up
And everybody does
It's so weird to be back here.
Let me tell you what
The years go on and
We're still fighting it, we're still fighting it
Oh, we're still fighting it, we're still fighting it
And you're so much like me
I'm sorry

very good talent and song here | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/18/09

that is a beautiufl song and he is so talented and his voice is just so soft and gorgoeus his lyrics speak to people and its true it does hurt to levae behind dreams especially in your childhood i think hes wrote this song as he sexperienced that feeling himself

good, no; Great stuff! | Reviewer: Brent Hutchinson | 10/20/08

Ben Folds is the greatest. I saw him on some late night talk show doing a song with a deubt with some female singer and it was awesome. If you are into poetic music that is pretty off beat (not like Ben Folds) but check out Neutral Milk Hotel or Bright Eyes. There are many others but this is all I got from off the top of my head.
cheers

Beautiful... | Reviewer: Joel | 11/20/07

This song is a beautiful song behind poetic lyrics that speak true of real life. The delicate voice of Ben Folds put it all together for a song of great proportions. I recommend Ben Folds...he's amazing!

i feel the same | Reviewer: shannon kian | 4/30/07

i like it. i love it. i am stilll fighting it, but it is happening. it is better to submit, and enjoy after... and i m sorry that it is true. but that is the secret we are floating in, and we will never be able to see out side the box. the only way to enjoy is to submit, and live.

Childhood Dreams | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/21/07

I never thought I'd leave behind my childhood dreams but I don't mind, I'm where and who I want to be. No change of heart, a change in me. For in my dark despair, I slowly understood my perfect world out there had disappeared for good, but in it's place, I feel a truer life begin and it's so good and real, it must come from within. I never thought I'd leave behind my childhood dreams but I don't mind.
