Stephanie Lynn Nicks was born on May 26, 1948 to Jess and
Barbara Nicks in Phoenix, Arizona. The family moved often
throughout her childhood, living in New Mexico, Utah, and
Texas as Stevie's father moved up the corporate ladder. At

fairy tales and fantasy, and her grandfather, Aaron Jess
Nicks, taught her to sing. He was a frustrated,
unsuccessful Country/Western singer who lived up in the
Arizona mountains. By the time Stevie was four years old,
he she was already singing along with him on country
classics; she also recalls getting up and dancing on the
tables at the bar her parents owned. A.J. Nicks wanted to More...

------ About the song Crystal performed by Stevie Nicks
This song was introduced to me by my sister Mary Deloris West. This is the most beautiful song. I always remember Deloris because she sang Stevie Nicks perfectly just like her. I will always hear Deloris when Stevie sings. I dedicate this review and all Stevie Nicks songs "In the Memory of Mary Deloris West". Deloris broadened my horizons introducing me to Stevie's music.I sing for Deloris now that she is singing Stevie Nick's for Jesus now. Mary Deloris West was like the flower "The Rose"

Stevie Nicks -- The Best Female (or Male) Singer/Songwriter Ever? | Reviewer: Gary R Nelson
------ About artist/band Stevie Nicks
Stevie Nicks has put her heart and soul into song writing unlike any other contemporary singer and storywriter of her time. Her lyrics make you “think deep” while looking for the meaning in each of her songs. Stevie makes it thought provoking and incredibly intriguing while trying to find the meaning(s) of her stories -- and what event in her life brought each story out of her.
I read in an article recently that Stevie is not writing songs much lately, but still feels her "true definitive song” is still coming. Well, I'm sorry Stevie, but you're wrong! You have repeatedly surpassed yourself with so many truly wonderful and profound stories. Stevie’s lessons of love and life have been passed onto many of us over the last 30 years while listening and learning from your words.
Stevie’s touching, poignant, “heart aching and heart touching” stories often are overwhelmingly sad -- yet a underlying feeling of hope and optimism appears too. Stevie’s songs say to me that another person’s life and their sorrow and pains DO matter to her -- immensely.
Any of a number of her songs would be an ultimate defining song in a good songwriter's life – songs to be immeasurably proud of for an entire life and career. Some of Stevie's songs that have touched us all include: “Sara,” “Gypsy,” “Rhiannon,” “Landslide,” “Silver Spring,” and “Dreams” – all great songs and each on their own would individually bring her worldwide songwriting acclaim.
But then you add in other classic songs Stevie wrote like: “Edge of Seventeen,” “Stand Back,” “Gold Dust Woman,” “Leather and Lace,” “Seven Wonders,” “The Chain,” “Crystal,” “I Don't Want to Know,” “If Anyone Falls,” “Rooms on Fire,” “Desert Angel,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You,” “Sweet Girl” and “Storms” -- Just to name a few more, yet I’m sure I’ve forgotten others too.
I can’t wait for Stevie’s autobiography -- maybe some answers to questions raised in her lyrics will finally be told. I have many theories on her stories, while she has always been beautifully mysterious. Stevie -- I Can’t Wait!
