Starfire Lyrics - Dragonforce

Review The Song (42)

Outside on a winter's night as the rain begins to fall
There's a chill in the air and the howl of a wolf while the rain beats at the door
Seven kings will ride on the wind up towards the mountains high
And the only sound that will break the air is the warrior's bitter cry

When the dawn of a new day will see the light then the strongest hearts grow old
And the warrior stands on top of the hill in the snow

Dark night with a glimmering light in the distance up ahead
In the forest they dwell with a misty spell no one heard what once was said
And the eagle fly through the clouds while earth bleeds dark and cold
When the voices of men will ring out again all creation shall unfold

When the colour of night will fade to light and the weakest hearts go cold
And the warrior stands on top of the hill in the snow

And we're standing one and all fighting till we fall
Hoping for a better day never giving in
Until we find the words till we find the words to say
Until we find the words to say

Burning starfire shine in the sky
For the lives of great men who stand by your side
When the night fall on we will ride
For no lost souls will live on forever

Dark night on the valley below still the horsemen follow through
It's a forest that leads to the foot of the hill that inside the magic holds
Seven strong they ride on along to the place where sorrow lies
And the shadows of the night will no longer hide all their mysteries come undone

And we're standing one and all fighting till we fall
Hoping for a better day never giving in
Until we find the words till we find the words to say
Until we find the words to say

Burning starfire shine in the sky
For the lives of great men who stand by your side
When the night fall on we will ride
For no lost souls will live on forever

For lost souls will live on forever...

it works accoustic too!!! | Reviewer: sheyne | 11/7/12

i tried playing this song on my guitar, i don't have the vocal strength of these guys though, but it still sounds beautiful,i guess the moral of the story is that you just ca't kick a good song. i thoroughly enjoy the DF. this song is like the theme song of my own little dreamworld. lol.

haters, plz die. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/19/10

any1 who dont like DF need to get their heads examined. especially their slower songs. Trail of Broken Hearts is my fav song by them, Starfire is very close, The Warrior Inside has an epic (slow) outro that pwns ass...... basically u ant beat DragonForce, and thats due to their melodic singing. its SOO much better then the screaming growling thing most metal bands call singing.

Blown away | Reviewer: Harry ward | 4/3/10

Wow... Best song on the album followed by valley of the damned, at least this is slightly differend from the almost monotony of sonic firestorm.

Ps does anyone think heart of a dragons intro sound like a nursery rhyme?

Seriously theres alot of people that dislike dragonforce. This song however is by fire the most differant song ive heard of them, its got the gorges keyboards and the vocals of a powerballed. I know im listening to the song right now.
Right now its my faveorite besides black fire, and the fire still burns.

Top 5 songs I've heard | Reviewer: Dragonforce fan | 4/27/09

In my opinoin these are Dragonforce's 6 best songs that I've heard (not in any order)
Dawn over a new world, starfire, through the fire and flames, the warrior inside, a flame for freedom, and the fire still burns
REPEAT: these are not in any order I like them all equally:)

Pleasantly Surprised | Reviewer: Jessica | 10/12/08

Dragonforce is one of those glorious bands that will gleefully produce the same album thrice, and people, including myself, will still love it. Not deep, certainly not progressive, but enjoyable for what it is. "Starfire", however, is shocking in its lyrical breadth and gleaming images. ZP Theart adopts a melancholy, elegiac tone, underscored by his perennial vocal optimism. These two traits combine to evoke a sentiment of passionate sorrow the likes of which I didn't believe this band understood. I have far underestimated their talents as poets and musicians.

about dragonforce always sounding the same, have any of you ever listened to the sonic firestorm album and the inhuman rampage album all the way through? soldiers of the wasteland sounds a whole lot different than through the fire and flames. listen to soldiers of the wasteland, it has to be dragonforces BEST song. srsly.

My stomach | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/17/08

This song is great, it has great points of adrenaline and a great feeling rushes through my stomach. i would give it an 11/10 because i've never heard a singe song besides this which can give me this great feeling everytime i listen to it.

sorry for shitty english.

Great song, great band. | Reviewer: Hollywoodb1 | 6/29/08

This is my personal favorite song, along with Cry of the Brave. They are, by far, the greatest metal/hard rock band i've ever heard. They certainly out-play metallica and iron maiden, and they have the best drummer i've heard, even better than Ringo Starr, who certainly has some crazy-excellent skill. The guitar solos are pretty repetitive but they're so fast it doesn't really matter. Mostly i'm just in awe of the speed, even though they lack creativity. And now for the singer: he knows how belt, to say the very least.

Best song | Reviewer: Bad Dave | 5/31/08

In music understanding that speed isn't everything is a hard barrier to break. Dragonforce as a whole isn't that great of a band for the simple fact that anyone with fast hands(see guitar worlds top ten fastest guitarists in the world) can do the repetitive scaling and song designs they do(though I understand that it's kind of their signature sound.) This is the single best song I've heard by them, yes that includes Through the Fire and the Flames and Fury of the Storm. The emotions that are in both solos are what truly make a song perfect as well as the catchy rhythm riffs and beautiful vocals/lyrics with meaning and purpose. Band I'd give about 3/5. Not the greatest band I've heard but far better than the bull crap thats on the radio right now like Nickelback, Hinder, and other junk like them. Song I give a 5/5 for the intense emotion given by all instruments including the bass and drum. not too far over the top but not subtle to the point where they're meaningless.

Great song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/17/08

I love DragonForce, have every album, seen them live, but i'm reading these lyrics thinking, this is such a great melody and most of these lyrics are awesome, but some just seem a little off. If you listen closely it sounds like he's saying " Burning Starfire, shine in the sky for the lives that remain, and stand by your side" . I'm not sure if those are the actual lyrics but they sound good, so thats what I will sing. listen and see what you think.
