Starchild Lyrics - Jamiroquai

Review The Song (1)

I've never seen the sky so angry
You've got to do somthing about these
Mind crimes
The shuffling feet and sad expressions
They don't go, they don't go
I thought you came down from heaven
To save souls
These angry men are into making
Bad seeds
The only thing we had they're taking
Now love needs
Needs a little, needs a little
Five thousand million people
To spread joy, spread a little joy
I thought you came down from heaven to save us
I thought you came but you just don't take us

Somewhere in the world tonight
There's a fire blazing bright
Keeping warm the superman
Sent to us to save the land
Somewhere in the world today
A hungry one will kneel to pray
Wishing all the while to see

I've ssen the preachers on the TV
In white suits
With precious stones they're studded into
Their boots
Can you take the money, can you take their money?
I don't knwo who to believe
Is it them or you?
I thought you came down from heaven to save us
I thought you came but you just don't take us

Got to see him now

When you gonna come, when you gonna come
You've got to save us from what we've begun
From what we've begun
So long coming down

Somewhere in the world tonight
In the world tonight
Somewhere in the world tonight
In the world tonight
You know that somewhere in the world tonight
There's a superman
There's a superman and he's coming down to see you, baby
There's a superman coming
There's a superman coming

[Repeat with ad-libs to end]

To Jay "Silver Voice" Kay and the Gang | Reviewer: Bongani | 5/29/2008

Hi this is Nongani Ndemka, an 18-year-old college student from South Africa.

Firstly I'd like to say that eversince the "Funk Odessy" album, Jamiroquai has resurrected the age-old artform that is funk music. You guys are so retro its unbelievable.

I've been a fan since 2003 and when I heard that you guys were releasing yet another sizzling, erapresent, album mid-last year, I hit the roof, but when I saw the music video to 'feel just like it should' I became scared, wondering whether Jamiromiquai had changed from changed from their funk-ways, but I bought the album anyway.

All I can say is that you guys are the best thing since "earth, wind and fire".The song "Starchild' stole the number one sport for me in this album with ease, though it was seven days in sunny June. That made my eyes water (becasue I went through exactly the same experience not so long ago). It was the same song that healed that wound. Thanx Jay, and I still can't decide which song takes second sport between "Hot Tequila Brown' (the Survivor's song), Talullah (Mellow Funk) and the rest of songs. Although I still don't have "Funk Odessy" my best Jamiroquai song resides within that album. But even there, it is still a dispute for the one spot between 'cosmic girl' and 'dance'.

As for the album titled song 'Dynamite'? one word, Gallactica.

Rob Harris, you are the devil on that guitar, Brotherman, I could scream. All those beautiful ladies who did back-up vocals on 'Starchild' come please blow each of them a kiss for me. And lastly, Jay... what can I say? You are the silver voice, and may you forever rock-steadily.

PS. "Funk Odessy' be the morning to midday breeze, then 'Dynamite' is the afternoon to nighttime chill; some call it maturity but I call it 'the deeper sounds of....!
