Standing Outside A Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hand Lyrics - Primitive Radio Gods

Review The Song (15)

I've been downhearted baby,
I've been down--I've been downhearted baby,
Ever since the day we met
Ever since the day we met
I've been downhearted baby,
I've been down--I've been downhearted baby,
Ever since the day we met
Ever since the day we met

Jan lays down and wrestles in her sleep
Moonlight spills on comic books
And superstars in magazines
An old friend calls and tells us where to meet
Her plane takes off from Baltimore
And touches down on Bourbon Street

We sit outside and argue all night long
About a god we've never seen
sponsored links
But never fails to side with me
Sunday comes and all the papers say
Ma Teresa's joined the mob
And happy with her full time job

Do do do do doo do...Do do do do doo do...
Do do do do doo do...Do do do do doo do...
Do do do do doo do...Do do do do doo do...
Do do do do doo do...Do do do do doo do...

I've been downhearted baby,
I've been down--I've been downhearted baby,
Ever since the day we met
Ever since the day we met
I've been downhearted baby,
I've been down--I've been downhearted baby,
Ever since the day we met
Ever since the day we met

Am I alive or thoughts that drift away?
Does summer come for everyone?
Can humans do as prophets say?
And if I die before I learn to speak
Can money pay for all the days I lived awake
But half asleep?

Do do do do doo do...Do do do do doo do...
Do do do do doo do...Do do do do doo do...

A life is time, they teach you growing up
The seconds ticking killed us all
A million years before the fall
You ride the waves and don't ask where they go
You swim like lions through the crest
And bathe yourself on zebra flesh

Do do do do doo do...Do do do do doo do...
Do do do do doo do...Do do do do doo do...
Do do do do doo do...Do do do do doo do...
Do do do do doo do...Do do do do doo do...

I've been downhearted baby,
I've been downhearted baby,
Ever since the day we met
Ever since the day we met

I've been downhearted baby,
I've been down--I've been downhearted baby,
Ever since the day we met
Ever since the day we met
I've been downhearted baby,
I've been down--I've been downhearted baby,
Ever since the day we met
Ever since the day we met
I've been downhearted baby,
I've been down--I've been downhearted baby,
Ever since the day we met
Ever since the day we met
I've been downhearted baby,
I've been down--I've been downhearted baby,
Ever since the day we met
Ever since the day we met
I've been downhearted baby,
I've been down--I've been downhearted baby,
Ever since the day we met
Ever since the day we met
I've been downhearted baby,
I've been down--I've been downhearted baby,
Ever since the day we met
Ever since the day we met
I've been downhearted baby,
I've been down--I've been downhearted baby,
Ever since the day we met
Ever since the day we met

So THAT'S who has been singing one of my most favorite songs. The lyrics are wonderful...I'm going to keep this short, as I'm headed to the music store for the CD. Unfortunately for my husband, I know the words to the song now and can sing it in the car!

I, like most here, have been waiting forever and ever to figure out who the hell sings this crazy euphoric song that send the chills up and down my spine. Definitely something I heard a ton during my young teenage years that I knew was important, but never really bothered to listen to the lyric too closely. It was just the way it made me feel that really counted. Thanks a whole bunch. Much appreciated.

Just happened to hear the music from this song on Sunday on the radio. My girlfriend and I almost couldn't wait to get back home since the cd was in one of my cd folders in the trunk of my car and we were in her car coming back from a trip this past wkend. I had to pull my "Rocket" cd out of mothballs! It was so great to hear it again that I played it on repeat for at least 30 minutes.

I love this song's poetic feel. The part where the singer sings "I've been downhearted baby,/I've been downhearted baby,/Ever since the day we met/Ever since the day we met" Chills go down my spine.

Ten Year Search | Reviewer: Sonny J. | 7/15/08

I have been try to find this group and this song for at least the last ten years. All I could remember of the groups name was Radio. Finally I find on the Internet and you guys gave me the lyrics. As I remember the video was as haunting as the song.

The words take you to a realm best left to poets and madmen. Can't for the life of me remember which I am. Mr. King's soul blood spills to the floor, we listen to it dripping into he lost places we no longer care to visit. I've been down hearted baby...yeah man we know

the most haunting song | Reviewer: linda | 10/2/07
