Those who love it and those who hate. For me it's definetely one of their best albums. And I know all you die-hard fans out there will hate me for this statement and tell me that I don't know shit about metal. Yeah maybe you do know more about metal than me and maybe you were alive when Master of puppets was released. But I do know something about music and I recognize good music when I hear it. And among the albums metallica released so far this is the most honest and sincere album! If you close your eyes and listen to those songs you can almost peer into james' mind. The drumming is as energetic as never before, the bass kicks ass, the guitars add so much and the vocals are sometimes so close to madness. Maybe Master of puppets sold more copies has some more epic guitar shreds and solos. But compared to St. Anger it's all fake and phony... And even if you don't agree at all about this... do you really want metallica to release a second master of puppets? If they did, the original would no longer be unique!
