Spinal Tap Lyrics

NIGEL TUFNEL and DAVID ST HUBBINS grew up in the same city
block in London's Squatney District, where David played
guitar in a skiffle band, the CREATURES, while Nigel did
the same for the LOVELY LADS. The two began jamming
together outside tube stations, and eventually formed their
first legitimate band, the ORIGINALS, later changed to the
NEW ORIGINALS when the East End ORIGINALS (now the
REGULARS) threatened suit.

The New Originals collapsed in 1964 without record company
support, but David and Nigel were hired by the legendary More...

Review about Spinal Tap songs
Sex Farm | Reviewer: Bryce Maloney
------ About the song Sex Farm performed by Spinal Tap

This song is classic satire. It is vulgar to the point of infantile silliness, but classic just the same. It was written for the film "This is Spinal Tap", the first, and probably the best, mockumentary ever made. Full of innuendo that anyone can understand, it is featured in one of the funniest moments of the Film. I not only advise that you listen to the song, but also that you see the movie. It, like the song, is classic.

Pure genius! The ultimate rock (and maybe roll) song | Reviewer: John Wiltshire
------ About the song The Majesty of Rock performed by Spinal Tap

This is sheer brilliance. The complete failure to grasp that rock and roll is one thing rather than two hints at the hand and mind of Nigel Tufnell in the writing.
And 'the more it stays the same, the less it changes' is up there with all the other brilliant insights that have plagued rock since its inception (though roll has remained largely untouched) - 'There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold', 'sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven' and all the rest of them.
If you want to know what rock (and possibly roll) is about, it's summed up perfectly in this song.

The movie is like the bible for many musicians,or a manual of what and what not to do as a rockstar dew to it being so close to the truth of the music scene at the time, from 2000 M&M's with the brown ones takin out, prop malfuctions. and don't forget the little bread at the buffet table "it's a complete catastrophe"
and don't be snubbing stone henge it's a funny song that just happens to rock!! very Deo like themes. If you were to ask yourself how rockin this , the answer is none. none more rockin

Hello everyone. A good man would prefer to be defeated than to defeat injustice by evil means.

------ About the song Stonehenge performed by Spinal Tap

it's making fun of the likes of musicians who took themselves waaay too seriously back in the 70-80's. Rush with their seeeeeerious space theme (camel-toe tight pants, just look inside the 2112 cover!), ACDC and their Satanic horned deco/lightning bolt deco, and the lyrics are just a jok, people. If you felt moooooved by the music, you are a member of the population this movie was also poking fun at. The tasteless, mindless, sheeple that buy records and keep musical garbage in business. It's hilarious!

Still goes up to eleven | Reviewer: Lillywhite Lilith
------ About the song Stonehenge performed by Spinal Tap

Spinal Tap may have been conceived in comedy and meant as satire, but ironically, they write truly good songs, and can actually play and sing. The meterial they turned out as spoofing metal bands and others (love the metal umlaut... over the N!)is much better than most of what "real" metal bands did and infinitely better than 99% of what's being turned out as "music" today.

Oh, they're not making fun of any Neo-Pagans. They're making fun of Nigel's "confusion". Such a fine line between stupid and clever...Spinal Tap rules and still goes up to 11.

------ About the song Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight performed by Spinal Tap

This song is used twice in the movie, and there are differences, it actually changes depending on the circumstances, when Nigel is in the band, at the beginning of the movie, David sings "there's only one of us"
and because it is the show opener, there are introductions as well, such as
"Here, live! Direct from Hell! Spinal Tap!"
and David says "We are Spinal Tap from the UK! You must be the USA!" and the second verse is omitted. Not a dry seat in the house!
