Sour Milk Sea Lyrics - George Harrison

Review The Song (3)

If your life's not right, doesn't satisfy you
You don't get the breaks like some of us do
Better work it out; find where you've gone wrong
Better do it soon as you don't have long

Get out of Sour Milk Sea
You don't belong there
Get back to where you should be
Find out what's going on there

If you want the most from everything you do
In the shortest time your dreams come true
In no time at all it makes you more aware
Very simple process takes you there

Get out of Sour Milk Sea
You don't belong there
Get back to where you should be
Find out what's going on there

There's only one thing really brings results

Get out of Sour Milk Sea
You don't belong there
Get back to where you should be
Find out what's going on there

Get back to where you should be
Find out what's going on there

Get back, get back, get back, get back

Why don't you get back there
You don't belong here
Get out of here, baby

Recently released (U.K.) Apple CD: ' Is this what you want' by Jackie Lomax. Track 5: ' Sour Milk Sea' | Reviewer: Andy Macbeth esq. | 12/31/10

Yes, its a good little rockin' number - very Beatle-ish, very George Harrison (considering he wrote it and produced it!). Good vibe message lyrics too. Apparently three of the Beatles are playing on it, bar John:
line-up also features Eric Clapton (Guitar), Nicky Hopkins (Piano).
The twelve track CD (of the original 1969 Album/LP) also comes with six bonus tracks - three of which are 'previously unreleased'. Overall, by and large, it was produced by Harrison (with one of the extra tracks by McCartney) so its got quite a Beatle-ish quality to it - so yeah, even if
its of its time you may, like me, still dig it! So please let me refer you to the CD and its accompanying booklet for your own appraisal - however do note that the booklet contains no song by song printed lyrics, alas.
Jackie Lomax wrote most of the seventeen other songs, and his voice is pretty good too. Some of the tunes are quite soulful/R&B, but then again the Beatles were into those sounds aswell. I believe 'Sour Milk Sea' comes
from the same period as the 'White Album' and that - for those that care to seek it out - there is the original acoustic demo sung by George himself
with a little help from his pals! Its all out there, playing away - even as you read this - on the web, in the ether, and across the universe.
One last thing, Jackie gives a neat explanation of what the Sour Milk Sea means (according to George) and this illuminates ones understanding of
the mystically inclined lyrics. So my friends,'beware of darkness' and get
grooving to the tune.

This great tune was written by George but performed by Jackie Lomax. It was the 4th song released by Apple Records - produced by the Beatles.
