Bloc Party Song For Clay (Disappear Here) Lyrics

Last updated: 03/09/2009 11:00:00 AM

I am trying to be heroic
In an age of modernity
I am trying to be heroic
As all around me history sinks
So I enjoy and I devour
Flesh and wine and luxury
But in my heart I am lukewarm
Nothing ever really touches me

At the Trois Garcons, we meet at precisely 9 o clock
I order the foie gras and I eat it with complete disdain
Bubbles rise in champagne flutes, but when we kiss I feel nothing
Feasting on sleeping pills and Marlboro reds
Self-pity won’t save you

Oh how our parents suffered for nothing
Live the dream like the 80's never happened
People are afraid to merge on the freeway
Disappear here

We stroll past the queue, into the magazine launch party
I am handed a pill and I swallow it with complete disdain
Kick drum pounds off beat high hats remember to look bored
We suck each other's faces and make sure we are noticed
The cocaine won't save you

East London is a vampire it sucks the joy right out of me
How we long for corruption in these golden years.

Song For Clay.. :D:D | Reviewer: RobynDudee | 3/8/09

I love this song.. Song for Clay.. or dissapear hear as i prefer, is a awesome song but obvs there is complaints everywhere about the complication concernening the lyrics used. Surely this is what makes bloc party unique in the ability to right there songs a little differently from others. Also, there was a apparent gig at wolverhampton in the winter. however, i failed in finding any other word of this gig and could not find any tickets available for such a concert. awesome song but

for the top hit on google the lyrics are shocking. its not about melons?! its "oh ho, oh ho, how are parents, they suffered for nothing, live the dream etc."

correction | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/18/07

The lyrics need corrected, its not even close. I tried but a server error message kept appearing. It is the best song on a very good album.

Best Song on "weekend in the city" nearly as good as the stuff on silent alarm, but i havent seen this album performed live yet. Silent alarm set at v festival was immense lot of living up to do..... i will post again after the feburary 10th gig in birmingham.
