Sometimes (I Wish) Lyrics

Review The Song (9)Print the Lyrics
If I was a simple man,
Would we still walk hand in hand?
If I suddenly went blind,
Would you still look in my eyes?
What happens when I grow old?
And all my stories have been told?
Will your heart still race for me?
Or will it march to a new beat?
If I was a simple man

If I was a simple man,
I’d own no home, I’d own no land
Would you still stand by my side?
And would our flame still burn so bright?

Sometimes I wonder why,
I’m so full of these endless rhymes
About the way I feel inside
I wish I could just get it right

If I was a simple man
And I could make you understand
There’d be no reason to think twice
You’d be my sun; you’d be my light
If I was a simple man…
No I'm not a simple man...
If I was a simple man…
But I am not a simple man...

Sometimes I wonder why
I’m so full of these endless rhymes
About the way I feel inside
I wish…
Sometimes… (x 18)

Review about Sometimes (I Wish)

A tough time... | Reviewer: Jon | 2/11/2008
This song is truly amazing. And like so many people believe, a break-up song. On the other hand it is a song that solidifies a couples future as well. This is the most beautifully composed song with his voice and musical talent combining to form a work of art. Absolutely stunning, this song is something I listen to daily as I make my way through my breakup.

Dallas is amazing. | Reviewer: Alysha | 12/30/2007

"But as said above, if Piano or Violin was added along to it, it would make a near perfect song."

If Dallas Green collaborated with Murder By Death's cellist/violinist/pianist Sarah Balliet, it would be better than sex.

Wicked. Totally Badass. Dallas Green is an amazing guitarist and a just as an amazing singer. Sure, some people can sing -- but Dallas has a genuinely beautiful voice.

This is once again, another amazing masterpiece coming from Dallas Green. But as said above, if Piano or Violin was added along to it, it would make a near perfect song.

    Good break-up song... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/16/2006

Haunting....beautifully sung....sad, melancholy guitar. The lyrics are heartbreaking - gorgeous song but it would lend itself well to further production...violins? piano?...
